Nova Scotia "THE OCEAN PLAYGROUND" is a beautiful picturesque Provience located on the eastern coast of Canada.
Nova Scotia was claimed by a man by the name of John Cabot, he claimed the province for the British in the year 1497. Later the colonly was given the name "New Scotland" by James I of England in 1621. In the year 1867, on July 1st Nova Scotia joined the confederation of Canada, and at the time was one of the riches Provinces.
Some of the first people to colonize Nova Scotis were the Mi'Kmaq (Me-ga-ma), Vikings, French, Portuguese, Scots, English, Irish, German, Swiss, and African.
The official welcome of Nova Scotia is (Key-ut-me-la falcuh) which is Gaelic for "One Hundred Thousand Welcomes". Official symbols of Nova Scotia include the Mayflower, Red Spruce, and of course the famous sailing ship called the "Bluenose". Nova Scotia's offical Tartan, dating back to 1956, include the following color schemes:
