Day One started off with STRESS!!! I had a short delay with the bank before getting to rent the van, but everything turned out OK. We started off from Charlotte about 10:00 am
On I-40, outside of Asheville a tractor trailer crashed and closed the interstate. I took a "short cut." It turned out to be a 50 mile dirt road through a national park. It was beautiful!
On the dirt road...
We made it to O'Fallon, Ill, just 15 miles from St. Louis on the first day!
