Today is the longest DAY of the year. We're on I-40 at 8:00pm listening to Guns! The day has been something. After driving all night we arrived in Kingman, AZ. Of course, a 76 station was there. We ate breakfast and took showers, skated around the parking lot, talked to chicks, and left. We were in downtown Kingman later, interviewing the townfolk on "the state of the nation". We got some interesting answers. Driving on, we arrived at Silver Springs road, parked The Beast and began our ascent of a fairly average mountain/hill.
Well, pretty quickly we realized that this was going to be a little harder than we thought. About halfway up, we consumed our first beers. Bryan couldn't drink too much because of his cold. After two hours of climbing, we reached the summit. It was incredible, to put it lightly. For an area at least 100 miles/square, you could see 360 degrees around. We stayed on top for about an hour. Then the hike down. It was quicker, but we began to feel like Clint Eastwood in the desert, during one of his spaghetti westerns. Finally we made The Beast! Thank GOD! Must have drank a half gallon of water each. Got on the road, Bryan driving, and needed some gas. We stopped off in Seligman, AZ. Found a place to hang in the shade since we were totally burned from the sun during the trip.
