June 29, 1999 - Summer Vacation

We left the twin cities about 11am on Tuesday and headed northwest on Interstate 94. We were really trying to make some miles today, and only made rest stops along the way until we reached the North Dakota/Montana boarder area. We stoped at Roosevelt National Park for a dinner break. The park there is an unusual looking landscape that reminds me of a cross between the badland of South Dakota, and the deserts of the southwest.

Here are three sites with information on the park.

Here is an exit sign that I just love near the Montana border.

Here is our campsite for the first night. We pulled behind this rock pile out on the middle of the Montana plains near Brockway.
