This summer we took a cross country drive for a vacation. Up until shortly before we left we still hadn't decided exactly were we were going to end up. We were trying to figure out how much we could afford, and a lot depended on how we took the trip. After Debbie's kids ended up not being able to go because of commitments they had, we scaled back some of our expectations and planned to sleep in the back of the truck and use free locations. This allowed us to save a lot of money and go further than we thought we would be able to. We ended up making it to all the states in the western half of the continental us that we had not made it to before on our plan to visit every state in the US. This trip we traveled thru North Dakota, Montana, Alberta Canada, Idaho, Washington, British Columbia Canada, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, Iowa, and of course Minnesota. We saw and learned many things about these areas and I keep thinking how much of a perspective it bring on the geography, geology, and peoples of the US.
