Universal Studios is a fun place to visit. They have a tram tour of the facility that brings you through all the
back lot areas and into several specially designed "event" locations. At these locations they have special
effects set up to entertain you. In other locations you are afforded a peek into past shows.

Remember the series "Emergency" that featured the paramedics from station 51 traveling all over LA to
rescue people. Did you know that station 51 is a real place? Station 51 is the fully working fire station
located on the Universal Studios lot used not only for Universal Studios, but also the local neighborhood
fire protection:
This is a working film studio so you just never know what you will run into. While there I saw many of the outdoor
sets for the then upcomming movie "Jingle all the Way". This was of particular interest to me since
the location shooting was done in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area. It was interesting to see how
they depicted our town and how they simulated snow and a winter festival in 80 degree weather:
