Since we had just gotten into town we first had to find our hotel. The Newport Beach Marriot Golf and Tennis
Club is a very nice hotel located just 2-3 miles from the coast. It is directly across the street from "The
Fashion Island" mall (a very unusual place for us Minnesotans). Adjacent to the Hotel is a full Golf course
(our room overlooked the course), and a tennis complex (about 9 courts if I remember). The hotel has 2 pools
(a large main one, and a smaller more secluded pool that was very near our room) and two hot tubs (located
alongside the pools). In addition there was a fair amount of landscaping (a beautiful gazebo) and several indoor
courts.
After checking in we did a little exploring and found a beach a a park down the coast a few miles were we
walked around a bit before heading back to the hotel and partaking of the pool and hot tub.
