WILLIAM FRANKLIN COULSON was born December 29, 1819, and died July 23, 1879, at the age of sixty, at Mason, Warren County, Ohio. He married at the age of 50, on February 18, 1869, in Shelby County, Ohio, to LAURA LEFEVRE and was married to her for ten years before he died. In 1901 the address of the Guardian of William's children was: General Benjamin Lefevre, Wall Street, New York, between Nassau and
Broadway.

Allegheny Valley railroad, at the age of eighty-one. He married MARGARET SHALER.

Henry J. Coulson published the following obituary on William Coulson which was "taken from a newspaper Nov. 21, 1898."
Capt. William Coulson
Capt. William Coulson died Saturday, November 19, at his
residence, near Edgecliff, on the Allegheny Valley railroad. Capt.
Coulson was the oldest of the brothers who owned the famous Coulson line of steamers, plying the upper Missouri some years ago. He had served on the river for 40 years as engineer and captain, and was the originator of the idea of the "doctor," a mechanical contrivance of great value and now used on all steamers on the western waters. Capt. Coulson was born at Ten Mile, Washington County, June 8, 1817. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. O. L. Page and Mrs. S. M. Reynolds of Avalon, and four sons, William W., Samuel S., Martin M. and John E. Coulson. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Mary Price, Mrs. Margaret Evans and Miss Eliza Coulson of Allegheny.
Henry J. Coulson, also published the following from The Pittsburg Leader of November 21, 1898, which he said "gives the following in addition to the account given on [his] page 212:
Capt. William Coulson funeral services at his late residence, near Edgely station, A.V. Ry. [Allegheny Valley Railway], Monday, 15 2 P.M. Burial at Uniondale cemetery Tuesday at 2 P.M.
He died of paralysis. He was the originator of the idea of the "doctor," a device for utilizing the exhaust steam to heat the water supply before it enters the boilers. It is now used on every steamer.

11, 1808, and whose occupation was a farmer.

JOHN COULSON was born March 12, 1825, and died December 26, 1897, in
Yankton, South Dakota, at the age of seventy-two. He married KATE WAKEFIELD who was residing in
Pawnee City, Nebraska, ca. 1898.
