Veterans need to understand that we were first robbed of our benefits by the 1933 Economy Act (a federal cost saving measure) which stripped veterans of Constitutional rights i.e. JUDICIAL REVIEW, etc. This Act was not opposed by the NVSOs, do note that.

In 1935 The Economy Act was ruled unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court; BUT in 1940 those same unconstitutional non review provisions were rewritten into the Veterans Benefit Act, once again stripping veterans of their Constitutional right to a day in a real court of law! Again, not only did the NVSOs not oppose this, they actually SUPPORTED it!

In 1988 in Marozsan vs. the V.A., it appeared we would win the right to judicial review, so Congress and the NVSOs hastily created the COVA court system for veterans. The COVA court has NO enforcement power and is a sham and a farce. Additionally, Marozsan was challenging the non-review clause of the 1940 Veterans Benefit Act known as Section 211 (a); however, when it appeared this would successfully be challenged, the number was changed to Section 511 (a).

Do note, all the NVSOs opposed Marozsan.

Think about this, the following categories of people have a Constitutional right to a day in court with JUDICIAL REVIEW: child molesters, illegal aliens, convicted felons, BUT the American combat veteran does NOT! Is something wrong with this picture?

Also consider why it is that all the NVSOs refuse to allow me to speak at any of their conventions on this issue. Case in point, at the last Legion Department convention here, I was REFUSED credentials, even though I was an elected delegate and life member. Whatever happened to freedom of speech?

None of the NVSOs also like my position on the so called flag protection amendment. My question is very basic and simple, "Why do you not redirect your efforts into protecting the people who fought for the flag, especially the MIAs?" When I attempted to have a letter to the editor published in the Legion magazine, I could not believe the very negative response I received...

Ponder these thoughts and ask yourself who is the real enemy..
