Hell, the abyss where no man dares to go and comes back as a man. The occupants of this abyss are of evil and made up with necroplasm, a powerful evil substance. There are many rulers in this evil place over the time. Laviathan was one of the them and was the total ruler of Hell, but even him was outsmarted by his own making, a pet made out of necroplasm and 70,000 years ago, had turned on his master and placed the Throne on himelf as the new absolute Ruler of Hell. Malebolgia is different from others before him, he is more ruthless , more cunning and always a step in front of all others wanting his throne.

Al Simmon , a first class killer machine for the United States Security Group headed by the ambitious and possibly the most powerful person on the planet Earth, Jason Wynn . Al was dedicated and exellent on what he did, he was a hero who once saved the president from an assasin's bullet. Al always thought he was doing it for the great and security of the country, but as the missions became more ruthlesss and less rational, he began to question the motives of his boss. Jason, the master of control, realised he must have this cancer removed from his organisation.

In one and the last mission of Al, he was turned on by his two fellow killer machines , Priest and Chapel who burnt Al with laser weapon beyond recognition. At the point of death, being an athiest himself had made a pact with the Demon of All Demons, Malebolgia, a pact that Al barely remembered. Malebolgia granted Al's wish to see his wife Wanda one last time and in return, Al would be the new General of the evil army from Hell, the HellSpawn, the one who will lead this evil force to walk on the face of the earth and defeat Heaven. However, what seems to be a second, turned out to be 5 year after his own death. His wife Wanda has remarried to Terry Fitzgerald , his best friend and the new man in Wanda's life and had given her the gift that he could not have given to her , a child.

After being confused , lost and frustrated for a long time, he realised Wanda was happy and he could not go back to her as Spawn. The one purpose that he immediate found for his existance would be the revenge on his assassin and the plan 's master , Jason. However, he soon realised that Jason must live in order to save Wanda and her family from harm. But what is point of his existamce other than this??

Yes, there is a purpose for Spawn existence, he must protect those who can not defend themselves, including his beloved wife Wanda; he must fight against the evil forces that gave him his new life on Earth. However, his power on Earth is finite, the more he drain his power, the closer he becomes what Malebolgia wants him to be, and a step closer to be the servant of the Dark Evil and will have no chance of returning to his humanity. His humanity and his love for Wanda are what keep him alive and the lifeforce of his soul. His time is running out, Malebolgia is not the kind who would let his making to go amack, he has sent one of the 5 brethals of hell, Violator , to 'guide' the new Spawn and to ensure that Spawn will fullfill his master's desire. Violator is not a creature of no mind of his own, his desire to proof to his master that human is no fit for the supreme general of the Hell Army, he must demonstrate to his master that he IS the one for the job. However, his 'way' of training the new Spawn has upset his master who takes away his form-shifting ability and now he is stuck in a form of a Clown . He is nonetheless still powerful and ruthless and he is waiting for the right moment to tell his boss how he feels, one day perhaps...... There is also another tutor for Spawn, Cogliostro or Cog as most people called him at the Rat City in which most street "bums" live and is Spawn's liar. Cog is a mysterious character, no one can be sure where he is from or what he is... He was most recently known as the Count Alessantro di Cogliostro. Throughout the centuries, he has been placed with the Kings in Babylon, Egypt's Pharoah's right hand man and has eaten the passover dinner with Jesus and his disciples. No one can actually verify this but one thing is certain, Cogliostro is immortal. Cog understands Spawn, or at least more than others as he was once a Spawn himself several hundred years ago. He was one of the most ruthless Spawns but however, he has changed, something must have happened to him or because he is left with one last iota of his energy count before he gets to the point of no return and forever in Hell. He must now tutor Spawn to harness his power as it is finite and understand himself, and to find the path out of all the confusion that surrounds Al. Cog also believes that this Spawn can bring the downfall of Malebolgia. Heaven also is not sitting quietly and keeping a watchful eye on Spawn. Heaven has many angels whose job is to kill Hell's creature. Angela is one of such angels with most of her work on planet Earth, she is from the first level of Seven Heavens, Elysium, closest to God and where all the bureaucratic works are being done. Despite her appearance, she is ruthless and has never failed to kill any Spawn throughout the centuries until now. it is uncertain that whether it is for her lack of power or other reasons, she let one Spawn live, the newest Spawn, Al. She was setup by Gabrielle , then ambassador to Earth, and was put on trial at heaven. Spawn has rescued her and she then decides to leave heaven and go on as a freelance agent. instead of fighting this Spawn, she often fights side-by-side with him.

Spawn is not only surrounded by supernatural beings but also humans, two in particular, Sam Burke and Steven (Twitch) Williams . An odd couple. Burke, a loud mouth with absolutely no standard for personal hygiene, Manhattan native. He has been an army corporal who was disliked by others but he learned well playing the game of the army man. He came back and joined the police force. He was then promoted to be a 2nd class detective, he is commited to find the truth, no matter what it takes. He is paired with a sharp shooter, Twitch, Williams , the only person that Sam feels comfortable being around. Unfortunately, their disgraced Precinct Commissioner, before he committed suicide, fired the pair for insubordination. The pair decide to start their own private investigation business instead of trying to get reinstate. Maximillion Steven Percival Williams, a good husband with 7 kids and a good partner, saving Sam's life in numerous occasions. he is the only heir to the housepaint fortune and has everything going for him excpet for his name, his physique and voice. he is also a mathetician, especially good in trigonometry and trajectories. Instead of pursuing his study in mathematics, he changes his major from Applied science to Criminal science at Harvard. Whether he wants to rid his "geek" image or to be closer to what he likes 'guns', he does good at all his courses. However, his parents also cut him off from the fortune due to his choice of studies. After graduation, he moved from Boston to New York, joined the police force and teamed up with Sam ever since. What involved them in Spawn's life was a series of incidents that linked Jason Wynn, Billy Kincaid and things that happened in the Rat City. The pair is determined to find the truth behind the whole thing. Billy Kincaid, a psychopath who kidnaps and murders children. Kincaid was arrested for children disappearance. He was then released, thank to the manipulation of Jason Wynn and the police chief. At the time, Jason Wynn's power was threatened by the US senator Jennings, Wynn sent Kincaid to kidnap the senator's daughter, who was then murdered by Kincaid. The angry senator hired Al Simmons (before he was betrayed by his colleages himself) to kill Kincaid, but before that happened, Kincaid was arrested for a lesser charge and was released after 5 years. However, he went on with his murdurous way, and was eventually got rid of by Al Simmons (the human), his body was ditched in the office of Sam and William 'Twitch'. But Kincaid 's soul did not go unwanted, he is now serving Malebolgia as a lesser Spawn. Grandma Blake , a kind, loving 70 plus senior who is also a linchpin of Wanda's family. She has strong belief in 'family' and a sturdy moral. She has been the guidinglight in Wanda's life. Although, her blindness has given her inconvenience, but she believes the old Almighty has given a gift - a gift of great sense and blessed perception. Since Al's rebirth, he has visited her regularly and she strongly believes God has sent Al back as an angel even though he is indeed a worrior from Hell. Grandma has accepted Terry , Wanda's second husband and the arrival of Cyan to her family has given her great joy.

400 years after (Al) Spawn, the world has changed so much, so much that the planet resembles Hell. There is no rules, no order. Evils and the corrupted rule. The Army of Hell has already marched on the surface of the land; but the evil army needs a general, the rule has not changed the past 400 years. Daniel Llanso, who has fought for his surviving since he was a young boy. Anguish and abuse have consumed Daniel slowly. His only purpose of survival is vengeance. Daniel, as a teenager, a regular visitor to the juvenile detention centers , a thief, a killer and a lone-wolf. He was constantly harrassed and terrorised by the gang on the Moon, by those who think that they rule the planet. they have tried to kill Daniel but his survival instinct has served him well, he killed those who threaten to terminate his existance. He remembers so well that a long time ago, he and his sister, Madrid were attacked constantly by a 'monster', a monster that his bruised fleash mother tried to protect them from..... After the monster death, he was taken away by Cronecops, for the crime of getting rid of this 'monster'. He was incarcinated in a prison guarded by people that are abusive of their power. Daniel says to himself "One day... they will pay....". However, Daniel is not the one without love and passion, his love for his sister, who asks Daniel: " Promise me, Danny, that you won't give up yourself, not ever.". A promise that Daniel has never broken. He has fallen in love with his public defender for his murder case. A pretty girl who has brought life to Daniel, a life without hatred and vengenace. However, this life did not last long. They killed her and took away his love. Daniel is now so angried and so filled with vengenace than ever before. The power of destruction has been building up inside Daniel. There is someone or something that would harness this power. Phelegethonyarre, the new ruler of Hell with a name of "River Of Blood", knows how to use this power for his advantage, for his plan to spread his evil power over the planet Earth. He wants to make the most powerful Spawn ever to walk on the surface of the Earth, to lead his army into the final victory of the Armageddon. Daniel is chosen as the new Curse Spawn at the time of his death. Like Al, he was confused with his new existence though his anger and vengeance are still with him. The evil side of the voices tell him to destroy, to annilhilate, to take away life whenever that pleases him. on the other hand, he is questioned by his own conscious..... never given up on yourself....not ever....... Once again, hell is not going to wait forever for his decision, Phelegethonyarre has sent a tutor to guide this new Spawn to the path of no return, Abaddon. He says to the Curse Spawn: "No salvation, no reprieve...KILL them ALL...make them pay....", At one moment, the new Spawn replies "It'll be a pleasure.....". Madrid and others are among those who have been fighting the evil forces, they will stop at nothing to fight this evil army to walk on Earth in total victory. Madrid has shot the new Spawn, not recognising that she is inducing pain into his his brother. Matthew, Madrid's son, unsure of what Spawn is but knowing that he once knew him, maybe in a different form, a form ressembles human. Matthew says "...I, I KNOW you....", perhaps Matthew will never know that the 'monster' that has just saved him is his uncle, nor Madrid would ever know, his brother has a new existence now. The struggling Spawn knows one thing, however, he must save his sister and cousin from Abaddon. He teleports his cousin away from the danger and unleashes his Necroplasmic power and destroys Abaddon. The human race has now, for a moment, won a battle. Miles away from Madrid and Matthew, the curse Spawn has risen slowly from the crator created by his nuclear-blast-like, necro-flames and starts his new journey as the fighter against Hell.

The Now page talks about what is going on with Al Spawn in the most current issue, I try not to give out too much or Todd (the author) will be upset, :), he needs people to buy his comics too! Rat City is haunted by a series of gruesome murders, with the help of his two bright detectives, Burke and Twitch. Spawn now owns the dual as he saved Twitch 's life from the shot on his head. In a nicely and neatly decorated apartment, Dr. Sarah Frost is taking a shower. She has an obssession of cleaniness. Her job involves a lot of her time trying to take the kids off the street, with some minor success. While she is drying up, she catches a glimpse of a bug crawling on her arm, she screams. As she is screaming, she find more bugs and insects crawling all over the bathroom, big and small. After a few minutes of screaming, she hears a rattling sound of chains. She then realises that she is not alone in the bathroom. A hugh dark figure with red cape is standing in front of her. The figure says "Sarah Frost! It's time to answer for your crimes!". Now Sarah is screaming for a different reason, she can't comprehend what is standing in front of her! Spawn says "Shout all you want. No one's coming to help you. You can't run from me." Spawn puts his hand on Sarah 's head. Memory of gruesome murder scenes appear in Sarah 's head. The images of five homeless persons being killed and mutilated by her. She is supposed to help them to get off the street but the voices came and told her that she was right , that it was up to her to change things.... The image of her last victim appears. Fawn is barely a child and Sarah was trying to get her off the street , she has spent many hours to help this girl but nothing achieves. The image of her taking Fawn to a warehouse and showing her the penalty for her actions appear vividly in Sarah's head. She remembers that how she slashed her with a knife and watched her die. Back to the reality, she finds herself surrounded by hundred of bugs, crawling all over, trying to consume her! She grabs a can of bug spray and applies it all over herself. She could barely see now and chokes on the pesticide. Five minutes later, the police, Burke and Twitch arrive, though they are no longer with the force but the connection is still there. They found a strange emblem similiar to the one on Spawn on Sarah's cold body. Burke and Twitch now find themselves as the heros for solving the murder in Rat City, they got the front page coverage from the media and they think they are finally going somewhere. No longer unknown outside the force. Going back to thier office, they found a box sitting at the door. Just when Burke thought that was the box of stationery he had ordered, he opened it up and found a severed head inside it, but what shocked them was the writing on the office wall saying "Sorry ladies! You Bugged the wrong Loser! Our fun is just beginning I'M Back , Billy!" So did the dual nail the wrong person!?? Who is Billy??
