Kamen Rider 1, click on the logo to hear the theme in wav (545kB). The story starts when Hongou Takeshi was captured by an evil organisation headed by the Shocker who only appear as a voice. Shocker 's evil dream is to conquer the world and Hongou was to be transformed into a mutant (human with a grasshopper) who would help the Chocker 's evil plan. But this 'mutant' is not going to succumb to the evil . The mutant (Kamen rider) will fight against the Shocker 's organisation.

Kamen Rider (masked rider as translated in English) transforms (henshin) himself from human using some form of gesture and this becomes a style for many of the other riders that followed.

kamen rider gets his energy from the fan on his belt, as the wind blows into the belt , the fan turns and creates energy. there are two versions of Kamen Rider 1 and he rides on his bike , Cyclone which has a giant fan in the front of the bike. He is the leader of all kamen Riders.

Ichimonchi Hayato was a camera man who travels across the world but he too was captured by the Shocker and was to be transformed into a mutant that would help the shocker to conquer the world . Before the transfomration was completed , he was saved by Kamen Rider 1

He replaced kamen rider 1 to fight against this evil organisation while Kamen Rider 1 was in Europe fighting the branch office of the Shocker organisation.

He looks like Rider 1 , but the white strips on his side are thicker and single stripped and also he wears red gloves

This is my most favourite Rider series.

The evil Destron organisation killed Mazami Shirou's family and injured Mazami.He was saved by Rider 1 and 2, they gave Mazami their energy and created Kamen Rider V3.

V3 has the most number of weapons , inlcuding a surveying device which he shoots to the sky and observes the surveillance in his eyes.

The majins (mutants)are well designed in my opinion. the series lasted very long also and was the peak of all kamen rider waves.

Riderman

Riderman is not another rider series but appears as another kamen rider in the V3 series.

Yuuki Jouji was one of the officers in the Destron organisation. He was punished by the organisation and lost his right hand in the process. He later fought alongside V3 . He transforms into Riderman using the Rider mask. He has four lights on his belt and is regarded as Kamen Rider 4.

He was destroyed while trying to stop the missile and exploded with the missile when he was inside it. He is the only rider who has his human face exposed.

Resemblance : possibly a fly

Kamen Rider Kuwaga. This is the newest Kamen rider , the TV series will be aired sometimes in February ,2000 in Japan. Kuwaga can be roughly translated as some beetle. He has several Forms: Kuwaga, Dragon, Pegasus and Titan. He looks more like a medieval knight to me than anything insect. The toys are almost available to the public.
