Jeremiah M. Isbell was born Jan.17, 1829 South Carolina. Died
April 22, 1913. Buried in the Shiloh Cemetery in Polk County, Georgia.
Jeremiah married July 10, 1845 in Georgia to Matilda Ann Wade.
Matilda Ann Wade was born 1827 in Georgia, died June 30, 1904
and is buried in the Concord Cemetery in Grimes County Texas. They had
13 chidren.
Jeremiah and Matilda Ann Isbell made 19 trips to the Lone Star
State ( counting coming and going) but Georgia remained their homestate.
Matilda Ann died of cancer on their 19th trip to Texas (1904) and
Jeremiah was forced to return to his home in Georgia alone. He then died
in Georgia in 1913.
Samuel Thomas Isbell was born July 26, 1830 South Carolina. Died September 22, 1869. Buried in Zion Cemtery, Iola Texas. He married Feb. 15, 1859 in Columbia County Ark. Marthia A. Keith. Martha was born October 15, 1839 in Georgia. Martha died October 7th, 1916 Martin's Prarie, Grimes County Texas. They had 5 children, their first was born in Columbia County Arkansas before they moved to Texas.
John Calhoun Isbell was born March 8, 1836 South Carolina. Died August
17, 1906 in McGregor, Texas.
John married Unity Lavenia Moffett December 8, 1867 in Bedias, Texas.
Unity Lavenia Moffett was the daughter of T.C.P. Moffett and Unity Davis.
Unity L. Moffett was born Jan. 12, 1850 Bedias, Texas and died July 4,
1900 McGregor, Texas.
John Calhoun Isbell first came to Texas form Georgia in 1856 and travelled widely over Arkansas, The Cheerokee Nation (Oklahoma) and Texas. When the Civil War started he joined with the Texas forces and finally got back to the Georgia area before the close of the war. In 1865 when he returned to Texas he remained in Nacogdoches County area until in 1867 wwhe came to Grimes County. Without a doubt his brother Franklin , came to Texas with him in 18865 as Franklin was killed during a storm in Nacogdoches County Texas in 1866. John and his family lived in the Grimes County aarea until about 18885 when they moved to the Temple-McGregor area. John and Unity had 9 children.
George Pendleton Isbell was born March 28, 1848 in Georgia. He died
August 27, 1915 in Oglesby, Texas. ( I Have not verified this
but another source says George Pendleton Isbell is buried in the Post Oak
Cemetery in Coryell County Texas. ) George Pendleton Isbell married December
6th, 1877 in Leon County Texas Nannie Furman Hill, the daughter of Jacob
Albert Hill and Elizabeth Cummings Chapman. Nannie Furman Hill was born
December 22, 1855 in Catawba, South Carolina. She died Feb.
18, 1932 in Oglesby, Texas. Nannie and George Pendleton Isbell had 9 children.
George came to Texas in 1867.

Pendleton Isbell born April 15, 1806 South Carolina died November 30,
1873. Buried in Shiloh Cemetery Polk County Georgia. Pendleton married
March 18, 1824 in South Carolina, Susana Cleveland. Susana was the daughter
of Jeremiah Cleveland and Obedient Calaway. Susana Cleveland was born Feb.
166, 1806 in South Carolina, died December 1, 1888 and is buried in the
Pankey Cemetery, Grimes County Texas. Engraved on the tombstone of Susana
we find 15 Children :70 Grandchildren:and 125 Great Grandchildren.
