FIRST ISSUE (#1) --8/10/96
Welcome to the BOLT family Genealogy Home Page or Newsletter.
You have been mailed this if your name was BOLT or possibly a derivative name such as BULT ! See below of full listing of known BOLT derivative names.
As my family genealogy searching has taken me deep into Devon, England , I have acquired much data related to other BOLT families. I want to share this information with other likely very distant related BOLTs. There are many BOLT named persons out there that DO NOT know their heritage. Some don't even know where their ancestors in the old world came from. England? Switzerland? Holland? Germany?

This newsletter and likely Webb page to follow soon ( webb page space has been purchased, but a webb page has not constructed yet). Any webb makers named BOLT out there?
There is no intent to sell or collect any money at this time, and likely never! If I have to snail mail more that one issue, I may ask for postage however. I expect to use hot links on a webb page to other BOLT family home pages. There are about 5 or 6 found so far on line. More later on this.
The webb page is expected to guide someone chasing BOLT named relatives toward finding more information. The are likely to be a connecting FTP site with BOLT family data files. See below for present list that can be E-mailed to you, and hopefully on line access!
OBJECT:
There are allot of not English BOLTs out there and because they are likely connected to all BOLT families they to should have a place on the page. I welcome inputs from these areas. As we find out how are name traveled the continent we are likely to discover ourselves. The English language is from German & French, so shouldn't the people and their names also be a mix?
Name Research
We had been promised a Switzerland BULT name beginnings / connection, however I have not received it as of yet.
The BULTZ & BULT & BOLTZ, and so forth names are welcome info. here also, as we are likely all connected.
LOCATION RESEARCH
If you have info. on the flow of the family name in Europe/England, please contribute.
I will also be looking this up at the Library of Congress soon.
HELP PLEASE:
Please contribute with all the information you have as to who your forbears were and where they lived & came from. We ( your on line BOLT family) will try to help you find our roots.
PAST EFFORTS TO BRING BOLTs TOGETHER
I have already mailed over one hundred BOLT E-Mail addresses from around the world. There were about 30 responses. I find new addresses ever week to e-mail. I expect to post the interesting ones first to get the newsletter rolling. Your response is also subject to posting if you don't tell me other wise! You may also request the response file via an attached file E-Mailed to you.
Responses have resulted in distant relatives finding each other. Census data for mid-1800s Devon that I dug out of microfilm has already resulted in connecting two living relatives in Stafford, NY area ( not my line however.)

If you do not want to be mailed this BOLT newsletter, please send me a message. I will likely stop anyway if I do not hear back! If I have redundant addresses for you, please also tell me. I may do one a week till caught up with info. I hope to do this once a month if I have enough info. If anyone has a listserver privileges, lets go that way , otherwise the webb page will likely be the future vehicle of info.
