US army recruits witches to guard pagans' rights By Ben Fenton in Washington THE United States army has recognised white witchcraft as a religion and has appointed chaplains to oversee pagan ceremonies on at least five bases. A Pentagon spokesman said yesterday that there were believed to be at least 100 witches attending covens at Fort Hood, Texas, the army's largest base with more than 42,000 troops. So respectful has the army become of the pagan rites that security was increased at Fort Hood's Boy Scout camp, where covens are held. The move is to deter members of Christian groups from intimidating the group. The pagans, called Wiccans, are accorded the same privileges as practitioners of Christianity, Judaism and Islam. They are encouraged to have their religious preference stamped on the metal dog-tags each soldier wears. Lt Col Donald Troyer, the Seventh Day Adventist army chaplain who has been given responsibility for Fort Hood's coven, admitted that he was not overjoyed with his job because fellow Christian pastors disapproved and had been 1. Rapture Watch Solar Developments When the person in the darkroom receives a roll of film to develop, he only knows what he will see in the final picture by what the cameraman has told him to look for. The final scene, which waits to be viewed, remains in the mind of the cameraman at that point. Patiently the person in the darkroom takes the necessary steps with the undeveloped film and then slowly before his very eyes the picture starts to appear. At last, the picture that was in the mind of the cameraman is beheld by all. This is much the same way the prophecies of God found in the Bible can be understood by simple illustration. We are living in an incredible age of developing prophecies of God. They are all coming together to form the final magnificent future the Lord of creation has already seen. Considering one area for example let us look at what God has seen for our sun and the future of light. Since the Lord created the sun thousands of years ago as recorded for us in Genesis Chapter 1 it has remained relatively consistent and stable to the best of man’s knowledge. Of course there was that one time in Joshua Chapter 10, when God had the sun stand still in its position over the revolving earth but until this present age mankind has taken the dependability of the sun for granted. During the final decades of the 1900’s, mankind has seen an alarming instability in the sun’s behavior. Back from the November 3, 1989 edition of the Denver Post, we have this article, which headlined, “October’s sunspots were largest on record.” We quote: “In a five-day period last month, energetic particles from the sun bombarded Earth and its atmosphere at a level not reached since satellites have been in orbit, a scientist said yesterday. He predicted things will get worse...The March event was described at the time as a flare 36 times the size of Earth, possibly the largest ever recorded. In August, Allen said, solar activity rivaled that of 1972, a landmark high. Then, he added, “the September event was larger and the October one was so much larger that it made us forget September.” Now Jesus warned us of this developing problem with the sun at the close of the age approximately 2,000 years ago in Luke Chapter 21 verses 25-28: “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” It has now been 10 years, since we shared the 1989 report on the sun. Here is the latest update from the April 22, 1999, Denver Post, in an article, which headlined, “Scientists predict volatile solar storms beginning in summer”: “Since the last “solar maximum” in 1989, the networks of high-technology communications and satellites have expanded like condos on the beach - smack in the path of the coming solar “storms.” Space station astronauts will be working in harm’s way. And electric utilities are more reliant on cross-country transmission lines that can behave something like Ben Franklin’s kites during big solar events. Solar experts have predicted that the approaching solar maximum will be among the two or three strongest on record. Its main effects will be felt by July, peak early next year and end by January 2001. “We could start seeing an average of one per week as we get closer to the maximum,” said Nicola Fox, a solar scientist at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. The forecast events are part of the 23rd solar cycle observed, since 1755. The solar maximum may even draw displays of northern lights as far south as Texas. A geomagnetic “superstorm” in March of 1989 triggered the collapse of the Hydro-Quebec electric power grid, which left 6 million Canadians in darkness for nine hours. The 24-hour storm triggered 211 power disruptions across North America and similar trouble in Scotland and Scandinavia, Kappenman said. It tripped circuit breakers and caused millions of dollars in damage to New Jersey’s Salem nuclear power plant. Four Navy navigation satellites were taken out of service. Another storm in 1991 knocked out Telsat Canada’s $300 million ANIK communications satellite.” Scientists see a dismal picture developing with our sun. Just how dismal it really will become can be known through the Word of God. God tells us in Amos Chapter 8 verse 9, that He will make the sun go down at noon and will darken the earth in broad daylight and according to Revelation Chapters 6 verse 12, 7 verse16, 8 verse 12 and 9 verse 2, the sun will be darkened and not show its light for a third part of the day. Then when it does shine, according to Revelation Chapter 16 verses 8 and 9, it will scorch men with tremendous heat. The advancing deterioration of the earth’s protective ozone layer combined with the documented rising of the earth’s atmospheric temperature add up to the certainty that the days that men will be scorched by the sun are not that far off. For 7 years mankind will try to deal with the escalating problems being created upon the earth due to the increasing instability of the sun. It will be during the final 3 1/2 years of this tribulation period, that God will cause the sun to scorch men with oven like temperatures. At the close of the 7 years, Jesus will return to the earth with all the saints which had been glorified and caught up to heaven at least 7 years earlier at the event known as the Rapture of the Church (I Thess. 4:13-18). After the 7 years, a tremendous development involving the sun will take place according to Isaiah Chapter 30 verse 26, when dramatically, “the light of the sun will be sevenfold.” The Scripture makes no mention of an increase in the sun’s heat, only light. We can only begin to imagine how this spectacular increase in light will effect the growth of plants and destroy harmful microbes and fungi upon the earth during the millennial reign of Christ (Rev. 20:1-6). The developing picture from the mind of God has shown us the distant past, when light was created before the sun ( Gen. 1:3 and 14:16). For those of understanding the Scripture in Genesis Chapter 1 verse 3, reveals that all of man’s computations of “time” by calculating the speed of light, when looking at distant stars are erroneous since all light was created instantaneously. It is true that it would take 25 trillion light years to reach the next closest star to our sun, but it is not also true that the stars were created trillions of light years ago. God did not have mankind wait to see the stars He created in Genesis Chapter 1 verse 16. Abraham had no problem with viewing them in Genesis Chapter 15 verse 5. If it were otherwise then to this present day and for trillions of light years mankind would still be waiting for the opportunity to see only the first of the distant stars. The developing picture of God regarding the sun then revealed the not to distant future, when during the closing 7 years of this age the sun will intensify its heat output to torturous levels while its light exposure to the planet will actually decrease. We were then shown that, during the millennium, the sun’s light will increase sevenfold but there was no mention of an increase in heat upon the planet. For speculation only, we might consider that our sun is about to enter a stage of nova-like characteristics. The change in the length of days during the tribulation period and the people of the earth thriving under a sun which has increased its activity by sevenfold could be explained by the prophecy for these last days found in Isaiah Chapter 13 verse 13, where God has declared: “Therefore I will shake the heavens, And the earth will move out of her place...” It would not be purely speculation, in our point of view, to surmise that God is going to establish for earth a new orbit around the sun. Not that God has to do it this way - but it would go a long way in further destabilizing our already tilted and wobbly planet, during the unparalleled time of great tribulation (Matt. 24:21), and in explaining to the scientifically minded the blessed restoration during the millennium reign. It would be fascinating for the people of earth to look out into space and find themselves located in a new neighborhood of our solar system. But that is not the final picture of the sun, which is to go into the glorious final frame. The sun was created by God only for an allotted amount of time. In the future there will be no sun. Genesis Chapter 1 verses 3-16, reveals that the sun was not originally needed to sustain life - but was created for the establishment of night and day, for signs and seasons, and for time. What sustained life was light and so shall it be again in the future after the 1,000 year reign. We are told in Revelation Chapters 21 verse 23 and 22 verses 3-5, that the church which had been raptured (caught up) to heaven prior to the tribulation will be living in the heavenly city of Jerusalem where there is no sun - but their light is the light of the Lord. After the 1,000 year reign of Christ under the sevenfold sun we are told in Revelation Chapter 21 verses 1-3, that the heavenly Jerusalem will come down from God to a newly created heaven and earth. Then according to Isaiah Chapter 60 verses 19-22, the everlasting inheritance of the land promised to the Jews will be realized without sun nor moon, but their light will come forth from the Lord of Glory who will reside in this holiest of cities which is 1500 miles in every direction, that is length, width and height (Rev. 21:10-16). In Revelation Chapter 1 verse 16, we are told that the countenance of Jesus Christ is “like the sun shining in its strength.” But one of the greatest descriptions of the Saviour of the world is found in John Chapter 1 verse 9, where we are told that He “was the true light which gives light to every man who comes into the world. Be filled with the light glorious light of Jesus Christ this very moment by believing in Him for the forgiveness of your sins and, “...The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; And you shall go out like stall-fed calves”. And “You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet...” (Malachi 4:2 & 3). Shelton: North Korea preparing for war Special to World Tribune.com Friday, May 14, 1999 WASHINGTON—North Korea continues to strengthen its military and has deployed most of its troops near the border to prepare for a war against South Korea, the U.S. military chief of staff says. In a statement to the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on defense on Tuesday, General Henry Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Pyongyang has deployed the majority of its more than 1 million North Korean soldiers near the demilitarized zone and Seoul.
