A Call to Revival ![]() The Decline of Culture
Is it possible that we, as a nation and as a people, are in the process of forgetting the very things that the prophets of the Old Testament, and the writers of the New Testament, said were really important? I believe we are! Therefore, in this page I would like to tender a grave warning, as well as remind us of a great promise. We need to think together about America and about the world. Frankly, an earnest call for revival must be extended to all the nations of the world, and especially to this blessed land of ours. We live in a time of the decline of culture. It is a decline of such magnitude, that the only answer to the problems of our world is a vast, spiritual revival. The problem is not simply that individual people are becoming wandering, leaderless, irreverent, and uncommitted. It goes much deeper than that. The very nations of the world themselves are committed to Godless policies and Christless activities. Murder, rape, pillage, and various forms of utter dishonesty, are practiced in the name of government today. The only hope for a culture which finds itself in the midst of circumstances such as these, is spiritual revival. Nations Rise and Fall Let's remind ourselves, as we think about the need for spiritual revival, that nations do rise and they do fall. I was thinking recently of the history of our world in terms of great nations that once were, and now amount to very little. There was a nation of Babylon, of which the Prophet Daniel spoke to Nebuchadnezzar, and said, "Thou art this head of gold" (Daniel 2:38). Where is Babylon today? It is buried beneath the sands of Iraq. There was the Media-Persian culture, which was the culture that conquered Babylon. Where is it now? Gone. There was the Grecian-Macedonian empire, which grew under Alexander the Great. What has happened to that? Very quickly, it dissipated, and came apart. There was the Roman culture. Rome ran the world, once upon a time. But all of those who write about ancient Rome, talk about how decadence and gross immorality entered at the highest levels. Raving homosexuals ran the country, until Rome was nibbled to death and finally conquered by the barbarians who surrounded it. We ought not to read history as a static thing. Consider what God said concerning the Old Testament: "Now these things were our examples" (1 Corinthians 10:6). We are to search history for examples, by which to govern our lives today. Look at modern times. The holy Roman Empire is gone. Russia, which used to be a great power, is now in the process of dissipating that power. The Turks once ran the entire Middle East. Where are the Turks today? Nowhere. What happened to France since Napoleon? And what about Spain? Spain was once a most significant nation. Now it is nearly irrelevant. Britain, that empire which used to go around the world, is virtually gone. Japan has severe problems. And even the United States of America should be looked upon with great concern by decent, culturally oriented people. Nations rise and fall. America is in a state of decline - there is no doubt about it! That can be proven by one index alone, although there are many. Look at the national debt: $5 trillion. We have to borrow $1.1 billion a day, just to keep up with it all. This matter of national decline is not going to be solved by clever economic theories and the rest of it. There must be a new heart, a new spiritual content, a new sense of purpose built into the life of our nation. We must have spiritual revival. We are reminded by many that America was born out of spiritual concern. The first settlers came here because they wanted individual freedom to worship God, to believe in Christ, and to be a witness for Him. That was to be guaranteed. Now, we have lost our Christian distinctive. Spiritual revival is in order for all the nations of the world, and most particularly our own. In fact, we need to pray the very prayer that Isaiah prayed when he said: "Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near; Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God; for he will abundantly pardon," Isaiah 55:6-7. The Prophet Isaiah tells us that the decline of a nation has something to do with wickedness and unrighteousness. It is not just the lack of military prowess. It is not just the lack of good plans for the culture - new streets, and homes, and palaces, and the rest of it. It is not a mechanical thing. The basis of life is moral. If something comes apart morally, it is not going to be put together again, apart from a resuscitation of its moral content. That kind of rebirth can only come through spiritual revival. Therefore, we need to cry with the prophet, "revive thy work in the midst of the years" (Habakkuk 3:2). Unless we have spiritual revival, we will find ourselves in a more desperate condition tomorrow then we are in today. It will continue that way until, finally, it all comes apart. Oncoming Judgment One thing I've noticed as I've read the Bible is, that every one of the prophets of the Old Testament, and everyone of the writers of the New Testament extended a call to be right with God. They followed that call with a warning, "If you don't respond to this call, judgment is coming upon you. By lack of commitment to the God who made the world, and who keeps things together, you are risking the death of your nation." That's how serious it is. They didn't say that things would be merely inconvenient in days to come. They said, "Everyone of you will die, and your nation will become a desert, unless there is a real return to God." God said this through the prophets to Israel. He said this to Moab. He said this to the Philistines. He called all of the nations of the world, not just Israel, to realize that He is the Lord of history. No nation, however it excuses itself for what it does, can survive without God. This oncoming judgment is easy to demonstrate. You and I have long since known that the world is affected by a dread disease called sin. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned," Romans 5:12. What is it that keeps sin from taking over the world, pervading society, and destroying everything? Well, God has said: ". . . he who now hindereth will continue to hinder until he be taken out of the way," 1 Thessalonians 2:7. There are four things that hinder the rise of evil. One is individual responsibility. You as an individual are supposed to do right until the stars fall. Secondly is marriage, ordained by God, not only for the propagation of the race, but also to maintain civil authority within society. When marriage goes by the board, this is a sign of Divine judgment. Third is the family, also ordained of God. Mother, father, and children are given a perfect description in the Bible of how they are supposed to relate to one another, and what they are supposed to do. The fourth quality that keeps sin from taking over the world is civil authority. "The powers that be are ordained of God" (Romans 13:1). The ruler is to be God's minister (Romans 13:4). What is happening to these qualities that God has instituted to keep society together? What about individual responsibility? One of the things that I think is the most grievous development within our particular society is that young people by the millions are being trained to say, "I am not responsible. Sure, I killed that person in a drive-by shooting, but it's not my fault. It was my upbringing. It was because I come from a one-parent family." In fact, we are teaching people with the theory of Evolution to say, "I am just an animal, so what I do is just the product of natural selection, rather than my own individual, responsible choice." Let me tell you something: the loss of individual responsibility could by itself cause the ruin of society. Never say, "I am not responsible." You are responsible. Individual responsibility, however, is by and large going by the boards. What about marriage? In the United States, there is one divorce for every two marriages. Approximately 2 million individual marriage ceremonies in the United States, involving 4 million people, take place every year. Of those two million marriages, one half will dissolve in divorce. How do you prevent divorce? For one thing, you must marry the right person in the first place, and make God the center of it all. Also, remember the Bible commands us, "Thou shalt not commit adultery" (Exodus 20:14). An adulterous society, as it is evidenced by broken marriages and a dozen other things going on, is the reason for many other problems: homelessness, poverty, bankruptcy, and the coming apart of the social structure. When marriage goes, it's very difficult for anything else to hold together. What's happening to the family? Well, young people don't relate to their parents any more. In fact, it is commonly agreed by sociologists, that the average adult couple is afraid of their children, because their children rule over them. Isaiah Chapter 3 tells us that one of the signs of the desolution of a culture is that children and women rule (Isaiah 3:12). Then what about civil authority? It is commonly agreed, and every survey proves this, that the government has fallen to about number 20 on the list of things that are held in some kind of prestige by the people. People are disillusioned with presidents and kings. They think them to be liars, and adulterers, and time-servers. They wonder if politicians are in it just for their own personal glory, rather than the genuine desire to serve people. I fear that most of us would have to agree that they are right! The loss of prestige by the government is not just a sociological phenomenon. It has a very real impact. It means that pretty soon, lawless streets will become the order of the day. What other possible result could there be, when our culture decays to the point that it cannot enforce any kind of decency upon people? When government and its responsibility goes by the boards, then you have nothing by way of good sinews with which to hold society together. So, when the things that God has ordained for the preservation of society begin to disappear, it is a sign of oncoming judgment. A society that no longer has a beacon, a direction, a commitment to anything, will be done away with by Divine judgment. It may be done away with immediately simply by an invading army that comes in and takes it over. You and I have seen too many tragic illustrations in our time of a weak nation overwhelmed by a slightly more powerful one, with millions dying. Is that an illustration of the great wars soon to take place? Let me suggest that it is. We are moving into a time in which we are seeing signs of Divine judgment. In what direction shall we go? A Call to Repentance In answer to that question, we have a word that appears again and again in holy Scripture. In the Old Testament, the prophets announced to the people of Israel, "Repent, and you will be right with God once again." When Jesus stepped onto the scene, during the day of His earthly ministry, He announced to Israel: ". . .Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand," Matthew 4:17. The Apostle Paul said that he preached "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21). So, may we suggest that the key to revival is for each one of us to respond affirmatively to a call to repentance. We need to have a new day, in which expositors of the Word of God stand in pulpits, and say, "You are wrong, because you have a false idea of God, of Christ, of the way of salvation. You need to repent." Think about that word "repentance" for just a moment. The word used in Scripture is "metanoia." "Meta" is a "change"; "noia" means "the mind." So "metanoia" in its original sense means "a change of mind." "You need to change you mind about reality" is what the Bible says to a wicked and adulterous generation. But the warning I would like to lift is, that when many people talk about repentance, they mean a great emotional thing. They mean people who are sorry about the past, and feel bad about it. They mean people who will turn their lives into another direction. These things do have their place under certain circumstances, but that's not what repentance means! A lot of people have cried about things, but they have not changed their minds. A lot of people have said, "I'm going to do differently," but the mind is still the same. "A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still." I would like to call for a more profound kind of repentance than is popularly understood by the use of this word. It doesn't mean to pay back, or to do penance, which is what the English word means. It means "You must have a fundamental change of mind concerning what life is all about." When Paul said "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21), he put it well. Who is God? God is that holy and absolutely impeccable Individual who presides above the universe. He's the One whose holiness must not be offended. We should fear the Lord, the Bible says, and that word "fear" means "fear." We should be terribly afraid of what God in His perfect holiness might do, if we persist in living lives of offense towards Him. When one changes his mind about God, he realizes that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that He has sent His Son, so that we, by faith in Him, might have everlasting life. Repentance includes faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, connected with a total change of mind about who God is. When we change our mind about God, we should also repent, that is, change our mind, about ourselves. When a person has sinned, he is in a state of being out of fellowship with God. He is living a life that is an offense to his Heavenly Father. If he doesn't change his mind about this, he will go on in sin. A person needs to repent about what he is, and what he has been. With a change of mind, coupled with forgiveness from God, he can move on in stately victory from there. National repentance is also called for in Scripture. God spoke to Israel and said, "Repent. Change your mind. Come back to the place where you used to live and walk with God. Your mind has given you over to the lust of the eyes, the pride of life, the worship of pagan idols, and adultery. You've got to change how you understand life, or there is no hope for you." God said that to the nation of Israel, but He said it to the other nations as well. Quite a number of times in the Old Testament, He addressed all the nations. Every nation in the world, not just Israel, is under obligation to do the will of the God who stands behind it all. The fact is, that in our present world, most of the nations of the world have given themselves over to the worship of some false religion, some pagan god, some invented deity that doesn't even exist. It's that kind of thing that makes the world have an irresponsible relationship with the God who made it all. How will the nations of the world be brought to repentance? Look, dear friend, there's a crying, burning need to answer that question today. The Church must provide a classic example of what it means to know the Lord, and then launch an outreach of evangelism that will touch the whole world with the story of the cross. The impact of the Gospel across the world, in terms of people who are serving Christ, is shrinking. It needs to be extended. We live in a world in which we, as Christians, have a great responsibility: ". . .Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature," Mark 16:15. That great responsibility is being supplanted by clever little subjective seminars that Christians are holding, saying sweet things to one another, as they search for the deeper life. Meanwhile, the world is dying. The problems of the world, in some measure, must be laid at the door of an irresponsible Church. "The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God" (1 Peter 4:17). So, may I recommend to every Christian, you are a part of a nation that could fall. You must believe and plan for the oncoming judgment of God. You must be the one who walks in humility, repentance, and faith. That is the key to the spiritual revival that this world needs. How can one say it like it should be said? Unless we have spiritual revival, unless the Church and the world newly begin to concentrate on God, there is no hope for tomorrow. All is lost. Judgment is coming upon us. But there is still hope, if you will commit your life to be right with God from this day on, useful in the hands of Jesus Christ. Standing at the Crossroads
There's not a one of us who hasn't sung at some time or other, "God bless America, land that I love." We live in a nation where the air is full of sunshine, and the flag is full of stars, like the poet said. Yet, we have come to a place where America is at a crossroads, and the choices that we make these very days will have so much to do with the days to come. When we think of America in the past, we think of the impact made upon this great nation, by a sense of destiny, the truth of the Gospel, and a concern for individuals. It has been absolutely marvelous. Again we say, "God bless America." But now, we have come to a point where the future is in question. New developments in America have changed this great land of ours, and so we say once again that spiritual revival - real revival - must come to pass in America. If not, the future for us will not be filled with the blessings we have unjoyed in days gone by. In fact, so interesting is the condition of America today, that people are asking as never before - "Where does America fit in Bible prophecy? What will be the satae of this nation as we move to the end of the age?" The argument for the survival of the United States into the extended future is not a strong one in Scripture, but it can be made. It really depends upon our reaction to the spiritual challenge which now lies before us. In discussing America at the Crossroads, I thought that it would be helpful for us to evaluate our condition, by dividing it into three questions. What is the Role of Government? What is governmemt really supposed to do? Up until now, we had just assumed that we had the right answers to this question. But recently, we have had startling new influences come upon America, which have changed the assumptions that we have about government. What is government, and what is it supposed to do? Is the fact that we have given the wrong answer to this question, part of the problem that we see in America today? Yes. Listen to what the Bible says about government. "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God," Romans 13:1. The nations of the world have something to do with Divine providence. We are here because God ordained the nations to be. Then, speaking about the ruler of a nation, the Bible says: "For he is the minister of God for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain; for he is the minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil," Romans 13:4. The purpose of government has something to do with good and evil. It is supposed to enhance good. It is to congratulate those who do good. It is to be the enemy of those who do evil. While that was common knowledge in days gone by, I fear that it's hardly believed in America today. Rather, due to the influence of a number of things, such as Keynesian economics, the time has come in which we say, "The government is God. The government is the ultimate divider, the ultimate decider, and the ultimate everything. The government presides above our lives. The final authority for everything, and the final responsibility to do everything, lies in the hands of government." The idea of a beneficent government, like a cornucopia, pouring out riches and wealth upon our lives, whether we deserve it or not, has become paramount in America. Nothing can be more debilitating, or could put government in a more dangerous position, than to have people believe that! If you expect the government to supply all your needs, and then it doesn't, because it can't, then you become angry at government. When enough people become upset with government, it can promote a bloody revolution, destroying the great capability of a land like America. To define the government correctly, therefore, is very important. The government is supposed to discern that which is good, and that which is evil, and make the annoucement as to what is good and commendable, and what is not. However, when you have amoral people running the government, who say, "Nothing is good; nothing is bad; up isn't up anymore; right isn't right anymore"; then anything goes! The existential idea that anything goes has been the ruin of many a noble culture, and it is taking control of America today. Look, dear friend, how can we say it more strongly? Your government and your future are being destroyed, because we have lost our attention to the Word of God, and we have allowed an amoral government to define itself. We have allowed people devoid of spiritual discernment to have the great say about what the government does. As a result, we are moving into a condition that borders on the desperate. That can be illustrated in many ways. For instance, one of the things the government tells us it is supposed to do now, is to take care of everyone. So we have a welfare program. Welfare was meant to be a way in which people at the bottom of the heap survived, which was a noble thought. But now it has become a supply to our major cities; it keeps the decaying and violent urban culture going; it costs us over $300 billion a year, to promote our welfare program. Welfare was originally supposed to help people in such a way, that it would no longer be needed in days to come. Not any more. Rather, welfare becomes a self-feeding situation. Just the cost from that, from which there is no real return yielded except for lives enslaved to the dole, and votes for liberal government, is so overwhelming that it alone could be the ruin of a nation. "The government is God" - that's the philosophy of John Maynard Keynes, the existentialists, and the liberals of today. Is it true? No! If it continues, it will bring down our government before all is done. Government must have a spiritual component. It must be able to tell the difference between good and evil. That component comes from you. You have got to be the fountainhead of that discernment, that attention to the truth, that can vouchsafe the government in days to come. What, then, is the part of the Church supposed to play? How Does the Church Relate? There is an entity within the social structure that can be a powerful influence indeed. That entity is the Church, the Body of Christ. Believing Christians are called upon to have a very decisive influence in the world. The Bible says about believers: "Ye are the salt of the earth. . .Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden," Matthew 5:13-14. Christ is referring to that entity of believers, the Church. How does the Church relate to the government? We have a popular philosophy going on in the world today that says there should be separation between Church and state. They carry that idea to the extreme, concluding that it means the state should not be influenced at all by the moral view of the Church, which is the Body of Christ. Nothing could be further from the truth! The Constitution says that the government "shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or inhibiting the free exercise thereof." What that really means is, there isn't supposed to be a state Church. The people who said, "no state church," were very wise, perceptive Christians. The state backing a religious design that somebody calls a church, like the Church of England, or the Church of Denmark, is not Biblical. A human institution is no more the Church than is the man in the moon. The framers of the Constitution feared a government-backed religious institution, because they knew it would exercise, finally, coercive force upon the individual. Rather, we must have within a nation, not a church controlled BY the state, but a church which is a powerful influence UPON the state. The Church should become a great beacon for the state to observe, so that the state will know the difference between right and wrong. Carl Henry, a theologian, said that if the state is one day going to be judged by the laws of God (judged according to what the Bible says it is supposed to be), then it behooves the Church to make clear those rules, so that the state will understand the rules by which it will one day be judged. I believe that to be true. Therefore, the Church should influence the state, not because it coerces the state in any way, but because it has a majestic mind and a deep spiritual awareness. The Church should be able to give spiritual interpretations to the concerns of the state, so that government will look on and say, "Yes, that is true. That is the standard which we must follow." It occurs to me that we need to discuss what the Church must be in a world like this. The Church should have such knowledge of the Word of God, such spiritual discernment, that it can talk about anything that is a matter of public policy: abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality, welfare, or any of the state issues that are going on in our particular time. All that we have had up to now is a pallid, weak interpretation that has come from the Church about one thing or another. The Church must produce men who can live above the fog, with spiritual integrity so obvious, that their words are like apples of gold and baskets of silver. We need men who will speak with such irrefutable intelligence, as was the case in colonial America, that nobody can stand in their way. That kind of an influence, from a spiritual entity called the Church, could make a remarkable difference in America today. When the Church speaks through the words of these individuals, who are in touch with God, and who know the Bible says, it will speak irrevocably and inexorably. Everyong will have to listen. They said about Christ during His earthly ministry: ". . .Never man spoke like this man," John 7:46. No one is able to influence our minds, our hearts, our spirits, like this Man, Jesus Christ. Well, Christ said, "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12), but before His earthly ministry was done, He added, "Ye are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). You have the mind of Christ. You are therefore supposed to speak as the oracles of God. "If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God. . .," 1 Peter 4:11. We need the kind of spiritual revival that will be the revival of sound doctrine, good theology, attention to the Word of God, spiritual magnetism, and the ability to express it. If we have such a revival, the whole world will be influenced. If we don't, then I fear we are simply kidding ourselves, hiding within our own delusion of hope for days to come. How does the Church relate to the role of governemnt? The Church is an instructor. The Church is a source of knowledge. The Church should have something better to say, than George Washington, or Tomas Jefferson, or anybody like that. These were mere human beings. But the Church can speak as a Divine entity, intellectually motivated by the presence of Jesus Christ. The influence of the Church within a state, within a government, should be one that is valuable beyond estimation. That's the kind of spiritual revival I hope for, and we've got to have it! There are young men and women reading these words, to whom I would like to speak expressly. You will waste your life, just becoming a doctor, a lawyer, an insurance salesman, or what have you. Certainly, you will be of some influenc upon a few people, but you have a mind that is potentially great. Touched by spiritual revival, you could influence the course of a crooked and perverse nation, and impact the entire world! Will it work? That's up to you. What Can You Do? "All right," someone says, "I've heard these things. What can I do?" The answer is "Plenty." To each one who has ever dreamt of the possibilities that would come from living a life properly related to Jesus Christ, the Bible promises Christ is: ". . .able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us," Ephesians 3:20. What can I do as an individual, that might be the keystone of a spiritual revival that could sweep the nation? The Bible teaches that one solitary person, concerned about a Church that is decadent, concerned about a spiritual establishment which is going nowhere, can exercise a profound influence! That is exactly what Jesus Christ meant, in His message to the church of Laodicea: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me," Revelation 3:20. Jesus was talking about a church that had lost its vision, and its spiritual temperature, and made the Lord literally sick to look at it. This church said: ". . .I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing. . .," Revelation 3:17. But it was accused by Jesus of being: ". . .wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked," Revelation 3:17. That church is prophetic of the church at the end of the age. Finally, Christ finished that revelation by saying, "Here I am knocking. Here I am waiting. I would like to take over the church once again. I would like the church to move with impact upon the world once again." So He said, "If any man will hear that knock, and open the door, I will come in, and I will be the altering force within the life of that church." Do you hear Christ knocking once again? He may be knocking at the door of your church, saying, "Look, for many years you've been, at best, a neutral entity in that community. I want that church to be zealous and revived and moving ahead for God once again." Will you be the one that opens the door? It doesn't take a lot of people or the vote of a committee; it just takes you. And how about your personal life? Apart from all else for just a moment, I hope you're asking, "What can I do? What can I be, so that my life will not be lived for nothing in a world like this? Can I be the key to spiritual revival?" Yes you can! Here's what I suggest. First of all, and most of all, be sure that you're a Christian. There are a lot of people who have a religious ambiance. They walk around with some knowledge of Scripture. They've gone to church, maybe a good church, but they've never really received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Now, after you have been saved, then Christ calls you and says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service," Romans 12:1. What that means is, look at what the world has to offer. Sure, you can make x amount of money. Sure, you could become famous. Yes, the world presents you with a lot of bunk about what it offers, and the career path, and the greatness that is before you. You've got to say "no" to all that, and instead say, as C.T. Stdd did, "If Jesus Christ is God, and He died for me, then no sacrifice is too great for me to make for Him." I cannot tell you the exact path God will lead you in. But I do tell you that yours will be a life of significance, and you'll be used of God in a wonderful way. What we need is not simply Christians who look upon the spiritual crisis in our nation with dispassion, while they put on thier best suits, and go to this and that and the other Christian tea party, or seminar. What we need are people who are committed to Christ, who live with a passion that never stops, until life is done; who are zealous in working for the Lord, and who are the kind of people who just won't take "no" for an answer for anything. Do you have the courage to do that? Are you willing to dare to step out into the great adventure, not knowing where you will be led in a life committed to Christ? That's the key to revival. I've seen churches where one young person has moved a church and a whole town, because theirs was a life committed to the Savior. In fact, practically everything great going in the world today has been started by an individual - not a committee, not a group or something - an individual who says, "Here's a life that wants to count for Christ." Then, look for God to produce the great adventure. Pray today, "Dear Lord, revive this spirit of mine. Don't let me be a neutral citizen of a neutral kingdom of God. Help me to be what Christ would have me to be in a world like this." You'll bring to pass a marvelous result, I promise you. Your Personal Decision I hope by this time you're saying, "I want to accept Christ as my personal Savior." The Bible says to you, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31). I'd like you to be saved today. Perhaps there are also those who are saying, "I'm a Christian, but I would like my life to be committed to Christ, so that I can be a source of spiritual revival in a world like this." You can. Say "Yes" to the will of God, and do it today. Maybe you'd like to pray and ask the Lord to bring this reality into your heart: "Heavenly Father, I know that I'm a sinner, and I want to receive Christ. I pray that He will come and live in my heart today. I believe the Gospel. And Lord, I want my life to be committed to Christ, so You can use me to touch the world in times like these. Please take over and guide my future as I say 'Yes' to Thee, in Jesus' precious Name, Amen." If you have made a decision for Christ today, accepting Him as your personal Savior or committing your Christian life to Him, you have begun a wonderful journey that can yield beautiful results in the eternity to come. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
