![]() Our Growing Peril
There is a question being asked more frequently than ever, that hits home for all of us as Americans. That question is, "What about America - will America prosper in the days to come?" Now that question is not just an academic thing with you and me, because we are born here in America. The death of a nation is not just a quiet demise, whereby some legal decision is made, and the things that remain are passed on to someone else. In reality, the death of a nation means blood, fire, vapor, and smoke, and other tremendously destructive things that can quickly consume the prosperity of that nation. The Bible predicts the coming of a series of wars that will cause the death of many nations. We call them the Prophetic Wars. Since the Word of God presents so many details about that awesome time, the study of those wars is a good place to begin, if we want to learn about the future of America. Thus our question quickly becomes, "Can America Survive the Prophetic Wars?" Nuclear Proliferation Well, take just a moment and look at the pressures which are shaping our world today. First of all, consider the fact of nuclear profileration. This program called "nuclear non-proliferation" isn't working. More and more, and yet again more nations of the world are developing nuclear capability, and they want to bring it to the place where they have nuclear bombs which they can use in their little program of conquest. Nuclear proliferation is not just a couple of words, but rather, it is a deadly threat that could destroy our society. Back in the early days in America, they used to say that a Colt revolver makes all men of one size, and that's true. It didn't matter if you were five-feet-five, or six-feet-six, when a Colt revolver was around. It was the guy that had the revolver in his hand who called the shots, and who won the card games. Well, just as a Colt revolver made all men of one size, so nuclear capability has a tendency to make all nations of one size. First you had the United States with the nuclear bomb, then Russia. Then of course England, France, Germany, and other nations of Europe became part of the nuclear club. But now India is, Pakistan is, North Korea is. What about Iran, getting supplies from Germany? Things are getting way out of hand! Nuclear non-proliferation is not working, because more and more, nuclear capability is getting into the hands of people who are inclined to do something terrible. You can be sure that Moammar Quadaffi, or Saddam Hussein, are sitting in some bunker somewhere, saying, "How can we put together a nuclear weapon that we can launch against the United States, and destroy the city of New York, or that we can carry in a suitcase and use for nuclear blackmail?" You say, "This is impossible; it could never happen." Forget that. It is becoming more and more of a possibility. And possibilities that grow into certainties finally turn into actualities. Nuclear proliferation could mean the death of the world order as we know it today, and a whole new one, if there's anything left, actually taking its place. Dismantling Our Military Now wouldn't you think, in the face of that, the United States would be developing tremendous military strength to stand against it? Well, you might think that, but it's not true. There are forces within the political structure of the United States that believe man can create utopia. They say that the possession of neclear weapons is provocative: it makes other people want them. Therefore, if we were to cut off nuclear development, and reduce our military capability, then other nations would do the same, bringing to pass world peace. So, we are not seeing an expansion of our military forces in the face of these growing perils, but rather their reduction. As recently as 1990, we had nearly 600 vessels in our navy's fleet. We are now doing our best to cut that number to just over 300 vessels. In only seven years, the standing army of the United States was reduced by one-third! Also consider related things, such as the Strategic Defense Initiative. Russia, especially the city of Moscow, is defended by an anti-ballistic missile system. So are some other places of the world, but not the United States. If someone fired a missile at Washington, D. C., we couldn't stop it. Why haven't we developed this system? President Reagan called for it, but somehow there's been only token appreciation. It's almost as if someone intended for the United States not to be a power in the days to come! When you see such obvious shortcomings in our military situation, and in many others, then you ask the question, "Who's behind this, and what devious thoughts are being built into our national psyche, to make us think that there's peace through weakness, which has never worked in all the world?" Nuclear power, its proliferation throughout the world, and its reduction in the United States, are among the factors which increase Our Growing Peril. But alas, there are more. The Terrorist Threat Once upon a time, the word "terrorism" was hardly heard across the world. Now, terrorism has become a daily source of newspaper copy. What is terrorism? Terrorism is more than just murder. It is the threat of murder and often the threat of massive destruction unless a whole country does what the terroist demands. Terrorism has become very, very big in the Middle East. It has been widely used in some places in Europe. It has even invaded the Olympics program on more than one occasion. Terrorism becomes an especially potent weapon when it is embraced by people of certain religions of the world, who love not their lives unto death. In the case of radical Islam, young men have been told that they are guaranteed an ecstatic and beautiful and utopian future, if they sacrifice their lives in the name of Allah. They are told, "If you can take the sword of Islam into the camp of the heretics, and do away with them, you will get a very special reward." It is the intention of Islam to conquer the entire world. Terrorism, therefore, is not some nutty little unrelated activity that somebody does who doesn't know any better. But it is a part of their national scheme. They intend that this be the case, so that a world will be throttled by fear, and easily brought to the place where it can be taken over. I could ask the same question that past Presidents have asked: "Do you feel safer today than you did four years ago? Do you feel more secure, you and your children, than was the case in the last five or ten years?" The answer is, that men's hearts are "failing them for fear" (Luke 21:26), and rightly so. Fear is a proper device. It's one thing that God uses, in order to make preparation for the days to come. There's no better moment to say it than right now: if you are afraid of the future, don't go home and hide under the bed. But rather, accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Then you'll have a hope that goes beyond this world, into the world which is to come, in which there is nothing to fear whatsoever. Now considering this short list of things that we have talked about, what about America, and what about the future? Concern about the future, as we have already said, is universal. Even the disciples came to Christ and said: ". . .what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age?," Matthew 24:3. Jesus said: ". . .many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ. . .And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled. . .nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in various places," Matthew 24:5-7. So, when you talk about a world that is specifically unpredictable and undependable, you are echoing the very words of Jesus Christ. There's not one verse in the Bible that tells sinful men to believe in the promise of peace, or prosperity, or anything else. In fact, the Bible says: "There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked," Isaiah 48:22. Don't resent it; that's just the way it is. We live in a sinful world that is deteriorating, and digging itself deeper and deeper into insurmountable problems of its own making. The Prophetic Silence A lot of people ask the question, "What does the Bible say about America?" They know that America is a strong and powerful nation. Indeed it is. We send out 60 per cent of the missionaries of the world, and we raise 80 per cent of the money that is used to support world missions. This nation has been a tremendous blessing to the world, not only politically and financially, but also spiritually. In many ways, it has shown the world what to believe, and what to do about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And so, people wonder, "As a nation so important in the world, and so intrinsic to spiritual things - what will happen to America? How does America fit into the prophetic picture? Well, I can first of all say that it is not possible to easily show from Scripture, what will be the future of America, because America is not exactly named in the Word of God. However, the future of a nation ought to be considered not only in terms of what the Bible says about that nation specifically, but also what the Bible says about any nation, including the United States. It says: "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God," Psalm 9:17. So, if you can show that America is remembering God on a greater, larger, more wonderful basis, with every day that passes, you can use this as a source of great optimism for the future. But, of you see America deteriorating spiritually; if you see whole denominations of churches turning to something else to preach besides the Gospel; if you see them folding up and going out of business because of lack of interest; if you see less and less impact being made upon the lives of people; you can be concerned about America. It's because with a touch of nostalgia that I consider this, because I remember as a young woman, back in the city of Hartford, being part of great programs in which people would sing, "What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus." Young people would come and accept Christ as their Savior, and go and give their testimony to others. In those days, we had across the United States one of the greatest spiritual revivals we have ever seen. That spiritual revival took the form of millions of young people coming to know Christ as personal Savior; thousands of churches being started because of the impress of the Gospel. During World War II, people became convinced that military conflict, while it would settle a little issue down here, would not solve the problems of the world. They came back sick and disillusioned at the many who had died - millions, in fact - and they were looking for something else. At that time, there were great voices lifted, like the beginning of Youth for Christ, Child Evangelism Fellowship, and the Christian Businessmen's Committee. Great denominations grew greater out of the fruits of those days. It was remarkable. But something happened from then until now. Inch by inch, and hour by hour, the zeal for God has started to slip away from American. So we have cynicism such as has not been the case in days gone by. Is America forgeting God? I fear that we must insist that it is. So we can know that this nation is in jeopardy if it comes under the aegis of those who become forgetful about Jesus Christ and His power to save. The Bible says: "Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people," Proverbs 14:34 Do you think God can bless and preserve a nation that kills 4,000 of its tiny babies every day in this land of ours? In fact, we have so often had the case where 4,000 babies will be killed in the morning, and then the people will go march around the White House and demand a better shake for young people, and better care for our children. It is one of the greatest anomalies in the history of the world. Such absolute hypocrisy is almost unspeakable. But, if this does not stop, you can imagine what could be the case for America. In fact, it could happen with a kind of a deadly gradualism. With this vast shortage of young people - two million die every year under the abortionist's knife - who will push the wheelchairs, or be the doctors or the nurses or the businessmen, or the people who make cars , or clothes, or anything else in the days to come? Already we are sensing that shortage. Try to set up a McDonald's hamburger stand. Where will you find competent young people who will help in such a venture? Well, they aren't going to be around in days to come, and that alone could be one of the debilitating factors in the life of this nation. There is a deafening silence in the Word of God about the future of America, but let me suggest that in Revelation Chapter 4, you have the living creatures, and one of them was "like a flying eagle" (Revelation 4:7). That living creature, by the time you get to Revelation Chapter 6, calls for the fourth rider of the apocalypse to come on the scene. Now, do you know a nation that has an eagle as its symbol? Of course you do. It's called the United States. That nation with an eagle symbol is mentioned in Revelation Chapter 6, when the fourth rider comes forth, and one fourth of the population of the world dies by the time you get to Revelation Chapter 9. Could the Bible be saying that there is going to be terrible military activity against the United States, perhaps nuclear in it content, that could destroy so many people, that you can hardly keep track of them? Do not discount this possibility. The nature of man cannot be changed. Man has tried it once already. And he may try again. You may also be sure that there is a tremendous amount of jealousy against the Unites States by other nations of the world. "You are rich. You have it made. Therefore, give us your money," say so many of the nations of earth. Nothing about competence, nothing about leadership of the Lord in what we do about an economy, nothing like that: simple, plain jealousy, which, of course, could turn into fire and brimstone. We've talked about some nations developing nuclear capability. What about it, if Libya could come up with a nuclear bomb that could fit into a suitcase, and be carried anyplace in the world? Don't you think they aren't trying to make such a thing right now! On several occasions in the past, they have stated their intent to obtain a nuclear-tipped missile that could strike the city of New York. That ambition alone puts the world in deady jeopardy. Unsettling Conclusions Therefore, we have some unsettling conclusions that come out of the question, "What about America?" One of the possiblities is that America will have been destroyed and not really involved in the prophetic picture. The weapons to do it exist today, and the resistance against such an attack does not exist. A second possibility is, that by that time, America could have rotted into imbecility. I am amazed at the foolish notions entertained by people today. I find myself astonished every day of my life, at the insanities that have turned into public policy in America. That could destroy a nation very quickly. May I make a final suggestion? Another thing that could take Anerica out of that prophetic picture is the Rapture of the Church. The Bible says: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord," 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. The nation that has the highest prestige of Christians within it is the United States. The nation that has a very high percentage of Christians in positions of leadership is the United States. Well, what would happen if perhaps 50 million people were taken instantly out of this country, on the occasion of the Rapture of the Church? That of course would populate Heaven tremendously, but think of what it would do to this land? Well, there is going to be a Rapture of the Church. And it will leave behind a nation like America, denuded of its spiritual leadership. That loss will make possible the coming of a set of events called the Tribulation. When we see the world going in the way it is, and what inevitably must happen, we must be left very thoughtful about the possibility that these days in the Scripture that are called "the beginning of sorrows," in which the world moves from this era of Grace into the era of the Tribulation. Given what is happening in America today, the prelude to the Tribulation may well be upon us. You and I therefore had better be careful, prayerful, hard-working people for Christ, because, in an hour that ye think not, like now, the Son of man cometh. Be ye also ready. The Prophetic Wars
This past century began a wave of euphoria. Nearly everybody said, "Now we are going to move into a utopia. It will be like a millennium. It will be absolutely marvelous. We've had a lot of wars, and collapses, and difficulties in days gone by. But now we've learned a great lesson. We can expect that there shall be a marvelous 100 years ahead." Well, some who were alive at that time (and I wasn't) listened with just a note of cynicism, and rightly so. As it turned out, in spite of all the optimism and all the euphoria that charaterized the United States and Europe in those days, this past century was the bloodiest century in the history of the world. There was more wars, and casualties on the battlefield, and more devastating incidents of destruction, including nuclear destruction, in the past century, than ever before. If one started that century with enthusiasm and optimism, he was surely disillusioned! I say that because there has been an amazing rebirth of that mindless utopian spirit in recent days. There is big euphoria about the 21st century. There is a big euphoria about a new millennium - not just a new hundred years but a new thousand years. People talk about a new age coming upon us. "We've learned our lessons. It's going to be beautiful." Sound familiar? Well, what we've really learned is what the Bible says: ". . .evil men and seducers shall become worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived," 2 Timothy 3:13. Who can deny it, as we have seen drive-by shootings, and drug addiction, and a thousand other things, that are ruining a generation of young people? Human utopia is not the way it's going to be, because the Scripture says "in the last days perilous times shall come" (2 Timothy 3:1) We need to consider this whole warlike spirit that will come across the world, and will be the case starting now and in the days ahead. I think that we should allow for the possibility that even now, we are living on the home-stretch of history: on the verge of entering the Prophetic Wars. The Invasion of Israel First of all, there will be a war that will kind of open this scenario of warfare: the opening gun, as it were, to all of the devastations that will come up. This war is described for us in the Word of God. It's the great invasion of Ezekiel Chapter 38 and 39. This has become one of the most read passages of the Old Testament, because it tells about a devasting war that will probably happen very soon. What Ezekiel says is: "And the word of the Lord came upon me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophecy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses, and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Cush, and Put with them; all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer, and all its hordes; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all its hordes; and many peoples with thee. Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy compnay that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them," Ezekiel 38:1-7. Ezekiel then continues and says "after many days" some other things shall come to pass. It tells about this army of horses and horsemen, by the millions, coming down from the north. It calls the leader of the army the prince of Rosh, thereby implying that we are talking about a powerful northern power, by the name of the prince of Rosh. Here we have Russia and her allies, among those allies being Persia. Persia (modern Iran) is increasingly dependent upon association with Russia for it nuclear capability. The nations north of Israel, which are Islamic countries, develop an alliance, and move to the south with Russia, in an attempt to conquer the nation of Israel. Now, in my opinion, in order to have a war, such as is described in detail in the Word of God here, we have to have two components. One component is, that there must be a desirable prize - something worth taking. Well, Russia looks to the south and sees such a prize in the prosperous nation of Israel. The wealth of the Dead Sea, and also the gold in a palce mentioned in Genesis 2:11, called Havilah, are present in the nation of Israel. Russia sees the Middle East as the crossroads of the oil and thereby the money of the world. Russia, facing the hardships of which we are now so aware, says, "If we can just establish ourselves astride the trade routes of the Middle East, and steal the wealth of Israel and the related nations, we will finally become masters of the Earth," So Russia moves to the south in pursuit of this desirable prize. But also let's remember, that on order to have a war, you must have the assumed absence of effective resistence. Nobody goes to war if they think they're going to be destroyed. Nobody goes out and commits suicide, just for the fun of it. Why hasn't Russia moved in its attempt to conquer the Middle East a long time before now? The answer is relatively simple: America. America's military might. America's nuclear capability. America's defense treaty with Israel. Therefore, the prophecy of a Russian invasion raises the question again, "Where is America when this tremendous invasion takes place?" A comforting answer is difficult to give. I have an opinion about all of this. By the time Russia decides to move to the south, Israel will have made a covenant with the people of Europe to replace the defense pact it had with the United States. So, when the northern army is defeated, the leader of this European alliance will take credit for delivering the world from this terrible threat. The defeat of Russia and the Islamic states, along with the obvious absence of the United States, will leave him the most powerful and popular man in the world. The Wars of Ascension This triumph of the Antichrist will launch him upon a series of wars through which he will gain total mastery of Planet Earth. A good name for them would be "The Wars of Ascension." In the process, he will offer to do away with God; produce an economic system that is different and wonderful; produce a new religion that people need; and produce a world government. People are already talking about that now! More and more, you hear them say, "Our problems are beyond us. The problems of Bosnia, the terror in Israel, the difficulties of Europe, the genocide in Africa, even the racial problems of the United States - how will we solve these things?" Diplomats fly here and there, attempting to come up with a program, but they don't. People sign a peace treaty, but as soon as the intervening powers leave, they go to war again. "Enough!" the Antichrist will say. One by one, he will attempt to conquer all these warring factions. Finally, if you conquer enough, the rest of the world will fall like a ripe plum into your hands. And so, through his Wars of Ascension, he rises from just being the leader of Europe, to become the master of Earth, the great broker of global power. Won't that be something? The Antichrist, finally coming to the place long, long, long predicted in the Word of God, where he occupies the throne of the leadership of the world: the man with a plan. When I see what is happening in our present world, and the schemes for leadership that people are getting involved in, it's not hard for me to believe that the man with a plan, this super genius who knows it all, will come up with the answers the world wants to hear. The Battle of Armageddon But there's yet a battle to be fought. That is the most famous military conflict in all the history of the world. It is the smashing, devastating, overwhelming conflict called the Battle of Armageddon. The Battle of Armageddon will occupy all of the nations of the world, in terms of their military power. The Battle of Armageddon will involve Jesus Christ Himself as the Messiah of Israel, and the Savior of mankind. The Battle of Armageddon will be so spectacular as to be almost beyond description! But I would like us to note that the Battle of Armageddon is not going to be fought only by Jesus Christ. You will be involved in that battle, and so will I. Yes, the Bible say that. So don't get too comfortable, because there is a tremendous date with destiny that is coming up for you and for me, when we are a part of the deliverance of the Kingdom of Israel. The time of the Wars of Ascension, when the Antichrist is working to build his power, is given a special name in the Bible, called the Tribulation. The latter part of the Tribulation, the last 3-1/2 years, are called the Great Tribulation. So this seven year period will be a time of terrible suffering and persecution and problems in the world, so much so, that Christ spoke about that time, and said: ". . .except those days should be shortened, there should no man be saved. . .," Matthew 24:22 You, as a Christian, I'm sure, ask the question, "What about me? If there's going to be a Tribulation coming up, will my family and I be caught up in that dreadful time?" The answer is no. If you know Christ as personal Savior, then it's about you that the Bible speaks when it says: "Behold, I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed," 1 Corinthians 15:51-52. So there's coming an event in which every living Christian that is in the world will be caught up to be with Jesus Christ. And every Christian who has died, whose body is in the grave but who spiritually is with the Lord, will be reunited with their glorified bodies. They will come with us and we will go into the presence of God. The Rapture of the Church means that the Church is delivered from the dreadful persecutions of the Tribulation. The Rapture of the Church means that God has a special destiny for us, the body of Christ. Another thing that we should learn, is that the Church and Israel are two different entities. Israel will be in the Tribulation. Israel will be in that period of time that is specifically called "Jacob's trouble" (Jeremiah 30:7). And during the days of the Tribulation, there will be a message preached that is different than the one that we hear as the Gospel in our time. How is a man saved? The answer to that question now, is by believing in Jesus Christ as personal Savior. How is a man saved during the Tribulation? He is saved by believing the Gospel that says "the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). God has quite a plan for the nation of Israel, but it is very different from the plan that God has for us, the believing Christians who make up the Church. We will be caught up in the Rapture, but the people of Israel will endure the persecutions of the Tribulation. The Bible speaks about their condition during the Tribulation, and says: "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved," Matthew 24:13. This verse is not talking about how we are saved now. We are not saved during the Age of Grace by enduring to the end; we are saved because Jesus Christ "endured the cross, despising the shame" (Hebrews 12:2), and saved us by His death for us. But in those terrible days after the Rapture, believers in the Gospel of the Kingdom will face the challenge of enduring, remaining alive, until the Kingdom comes. They will be saved physically by the return of Jesus Christ. Now, as we come towards the end of the Tribulation, there is a tremendous set of events that take place, that approach the point of fantastic. The Antichrist has won here, and has won there, and he virtually has it all under control. The world worships him, follows him, of course, because if they don't, they will be killed. What is the final thing that the Antichrist has to do? I'm sure that he will come to the moment that he looks from his ivory tower somewhere , and says,"I control all of the world except one thing. I do not control the nation of Israel, and I do not control those Jews who have come to believe that intractable Gospel of the Kingdom. I will never truly be master of Earth, so long as they are around." So he decides on the conquest of the nation of Israel. At the approach to Armageddon, the Kings of the East come in, and the blood and gore is so deep that it flows to the horses' bridle straps. This whole program of conquest fianally brings the Antichrist to the city of Jerusalem, and he lays siege to the Holy City. Picture Jerusalem, surrounded by the armies of the Antichrist, representing every government that remains on Earth. Their commission is to conquer the city of Jerusalem. The second Psalm speaks about this and says: Why do the nations rage, and the peoples imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us," Psalm 2:1-3. "We will do away with God" - that's what the rulers of the world say. Will they do away with God? How foolish! How can you do away with God who made the universe, and holds it all together? But when man becomes a terrible sinner, falling deeper and deeper into delusion, pretty soon he can tell himself anything, and believe it. Then, just as Jerusalem is about to fall, something happens. John describes it in one of the most dramatic chapters of the Word of God: "And I saw heaven opened and, behold, a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies that were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations, and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS," Revelation 19:11-16. Now this passage continues, and it's really amazing: "And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God," Revelation 19:17. Finally, of course, the outcome is given for the Antichrist, who is the "beast": "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceedeth out of his mouth; and all the fowls were filled with their flesh," Revelation 19:20-21. Please fix this in your mind. The most devastating, unspeakable victory and carnage that ever will have happened in the history of the world, is the conclusion of the Battle of Armageddon. This is what will happen to the world when it conspires to fight against God. Its armies are slain by the millions. The fowls of the air are invited from all across the world, to consume their flesh, because this is the consummation of man's war against God. There never again will be a speakable, possible, notable rebellion against God, except for a brief one at the end of the Millennium. This is the great triumph of God, in the world and in the lives of men. Thereafter, Jesus will reign over the whole world from the city of Jerusalem. The Last Survivors Who is part of those armies that come from Heaven? Who constitutes those armies? Well, the Bible says: ". . .Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints," Jude 14. Here we are told that Christ comes with an army of His saints, and He puts down the enemy at the final conclusion of the Battle of Armagedon. It is Christians, who are saints, who come back with Christ, to help deliver Israel from the clutches of the Antichrist. We, therefore, ought to be friends with the nation of Israel, because the Church will be the salvation in that day. A person who allies himself against God cannot win. The same goes for a nation. The same goes for the whole world. And the sooner we learn it, the better. ". . .If God be for us, who can be against us?," Romans 8:31. But if God is against us, nobody who will do any good can successfully be for us. Can America survive the prophetic wars? Not without turning to God, and that goes for every nation on the face of the Earth today as well. Therefore, my recommendation, starting with your personal life, and then relating out to your family, your city, your state, your nation - advocate a return to God, because this is the only hope for an errant mankind. Starting now, why don't you say that wonderful "Yes" to Jesus Christ? Will You Survive the Prophetic Wars? In the midst of all these things, God makes an offer to you and me. He says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." Have you done that - believed on Christ? I hope so. But if you're not sure, make today the day that you become a Christian by believing the Gospel. You may want to pray this prayer, and choose Christ today: Heavenly Father, I know that I'm a sinner, that Jesus died for my sins on the cross and rose again, and I want to accept Him. Please come to live within my heart, bringing the assurance of salvation, I pray in Jesus' Name, Amen." ![]() ![]() ![]() |
