Meet Hannah Trimble!

Hannah Trimble was the daughter of James & Grace Trimble who came to America from County Armagh, Ireland. She was a spirited Irish woman who married Major Francis Logan, a Revolutionary War Veteran of Old Ninety Six. The Tories were observed to be headed toward's Hannah's home to harm Major Francis. He hid under a nearby bridge. Hannah invited the Tories into the house to search fo Major Francis & became upset when they began tossing her belongings around and creating a mess. Hannah quietly slipped outside, cut the reins to the Tories horses & set a pack of hounds chasing them. The Tories stopped their destruction of Hannah's home 7 left in pursuit of their horses. Hannah's actions kept her husband from being detected & harmed & kept her house in order!

Elizabeth Prevatt, French Huguenot & her daughter, Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth Prevatt was the only grand daughter of French Hugenot, Pierre Prevatt, who came to America on the ship "Peter & Anthony" to escape religious persecution in France. She was born about 1738 at Manakin Town, Albemarle County, Virginia, prior to her parents relocation to North Carolina in 1739. Elizabeth was a "settler" woman of the western frontier & settled & later died in Sixes, Indian Camp Creek, Butler County, Kentucky. Though Elizabeth was older when she relocated to the Kentucky Frontier & a settler woman, she kept her habit of wearing make up. She played the piano & liked to sing & it is said that the neighbors loved to visit with her & join in the fun of singing & music. It is said that when angry, Elizabeth would swear like a sailor in French & butcher the englishlanguage, too. Elizabeth also had a daughter, Elizabeth,b.1761, her oldest child, who married William Beasley.
