[NI1375] Stephen and Tryphosa came in the "Anne" to Plymouth in 1623. At first he settled on the south side at Plymouth, and shared in the cattle division of 1627. He is on the list of freemen in 1633. He soon moved to Duxbury, where in 1634 he was appointed one of five to lay out highways. He was constable in 1639; served as one of five to select a site for a meeting house; served as a grand juror in 1637, 1640 and 1642; and as an arbitrator. Stephen Tracy went back to England to live by 1654, as there is a power of attorney, dated at London 20 Mar 1654/5, authorizing John Winslow to dispose of his property in New England. In it he calls himself of Great Yarmouth (Norfolk), and mentions that he has five children in New England.
[NI1360] Sarah's will, dated 28 Nov 1702, probated 6 Oct 1708, names eight daughters, Sarah Allien, Trephosa West, Elizabeth Allien, Ruth Thacher, Mary Scrif (?), Rebeckah Fisher, Lidia Bruister, Mercy Coburn, and sons John and James. Also names son [in-law] James Allein of the Vineyard.
[NI10219] John Tracy was appointed one of the surveyors of highways for Duxbury in 1656. He was admitted as Freeman in 1657, and was sworn as Constable in 1658. He served frequently on the grand and other juries. In 1677 he was chosen selectman for Duxbury and was reelected to the same office every year except 1679 for fourteen years, to 1692. In 1682 he was Ensign of the Duxbury military company, and in 1689 was appointed Lieutenant of the same company. He was Deputy to the General Court, from Duxbury, in 1683, 1684, and 1686. He owned property in Duxbury, Plymouth, Marshfield, Bridgewater, and Middleboro, the Duxbury property apparently being the farm inherited from his father. He sold most of the land in 1702, and soon afterwards moved to Windham, CT, where he died.

[NI498] George Pardee was probably educated at the old Grammar School at Taunton, which was in his father's parish. It was probably his intention to become a schoolmaster, and eventually enter into Orders, as his father had done, but such intentions must have been cut short by the outbreak of the Civil War. He was in New Haven, CT by 5 Jun 1644, when he was apprenticed to Francis Browne for five years, to become a taylor. He learned to be a taylor, and also helped Browne in tending the ferry across the "East River" (Quinnipiac River.) He took over as ferryman in 1650. George took the Oath of Allegiance on 4 Apr 1654, and was admitted a freeman 16 Jun 1662. George Pardee was the Rector of Hopkins Grammar School, New Haven, CT for 11 years. He taught Latin and probably Greek. In June 1683 George Pardee was licensed to keep an ordinary, and this license was renewed as late as 1690. George Pardee's will is dated 14 Apr 1700. He added a codicil the next day, and died before 26 Apr 1700, when the inventory of his estate was taken.

[NI7239] Where John was born is not known, but he evidently lived continuously at Sawbridgeworth from the time of his marriage until his death. Will dated 7 Oct 1605, proved 13 Nov 1605. Will names sons Robert, John, and Peter; daughters Annie, Jane, and Dorothy. Unnamed wife is executrix, with son Robert.
[NI7237] Robert's marriage and the baptism of one child are recorded in Sawbridgeworth; but it is very probable that he soon afterwards removed to some neighboring parish, where he lived several years, while other children were born to him. The records of those baptisms have not yet been found (in 1917), or may now be lost. He left no will, and no administration of his estate has been found.
[NI19011] Probably the John Seymour who married at Ware, Hertfordshire, 5 Feb 1616/17 to Frances Deardes.
