[NI498] George Pardee was probably educated at the old Grammar School at Taunton, which was in his father's parish. It was probably his intention to become a schoolmaster, and eventually enter into Orders, as his father had done, but such intentions must have been cut short by the outbreak of the Civil War. He was in New Haven, CT by 5 Jun 1644, when he was apprenticed to Francis Browne for five years, to become a taylor. He learned to be a taylor, and also helped Browne in tending the ferry across the "East River" (Quinnipiac River.) He took over as ferryman in 1650. George took the Oath of Allegiance on 4 Apr 1654, and was admitted a freeman 16 Jun 1662. George Pardee was the Rector of Hopkins Grammar School, New Haven, CT for 11 years. He taught Latin and probably Greek. In June 1683 George Pardee was licensed to keep an ordinary, and this license was renewed as late as 1690. George Pardee's will is dated 14 Apr 1700. He added a codicil the next day, and died before 26 Apr 1700, when the inventory of his estate was taken.
[NI6265] Joseph lived in New Haven until 1709 when he moved to West Haven.

[NI7237] Robert's marriage and the baptism of one child are recorded in Sawbridgeworth; but it is very probable that he soon afterwards removed to some neighboring parish, where he lived several years, while other children were born to him. The records of those baptisms have not yet been found (in 1917), or may now be lost. He left no will, and no administration of his estate has been found.
[NI4417] Between 1630 and 1637 the records of Richard's marriage to Mercy Ruscoe, the baptisms of three of his children, and the burial of one of these children appear in the parish registers of Sawbridgeworth; but after 1637 no trace of him is found there or in any of the neighboring parishes. He probably soon settled the affairs of his father's estate, and in the spring of 1638 left England for New England, where he appears in 1639 at Hartford, CT. The first mention of him at Hartford is in Feb 1639/40, when he is found as a grantee from William Ruscoe, who was evidently a kinsman of Richard's wife. Original proprietor of Hartford, 1639. Chosen chimney viewer, 1647. He was one of the signers of the agreement for planting Norwalk, 19 June 1650. In1651 Richard Seamer and Nathaniel and Jon Ruscoe of Hartford (sons of William Ruscoe from Billericay, near Chelmsford, co. Essex, England) were among the fourteen original pantentees of Norwalk. Townsman 1655. Will dated 29 Jul 1655, proved 25 Oct 1655, inv 10 Oct 1655, Norwalk, Fairfield, CT.
[NI365] Probably son of Robert. A Nathaniel Seamer, whose parentage has not been proved, had a son, Edward, baptized 16 Apr 1635, buried 11 Aug 1635, both at Sawbridgeworth.
[NI379] Probably a son of Robert. A Zechariah Seamer, whose parentage has not been established, is found at Ware, Co. Herts, only six miles west of Sawbridgeworth. Richard Seamer, the emigrant to New England, had a son Zechariah, who probably was named for this presumed uncle. Zechariah Seamer of Ware married there, 13 Nov 1637, Phebe Bennett. They had one child, Edward, bapt. at Ware 29 Oct 1639.
[NI709] Possibly a daughter of Robert. An Elizabeth Seamer, whose parentage has not been established, married at Gilston, Co. Herts., the parish adjoining Sawbridgeworth on the southwest, 5 Sep 1639, Humphrey Browne.
[NI730] Possibly a daughter of Robert. A Mary Simmor, commonly supposed to be a sister of the emigrant Richard Seamer, although no proof of any relationship has been found, married (1) at Hartford, CT, 29 Sep 1644, Thomas Gridley, who died there in 1655; married (2) Dea. John Langdon of Farmington, CT, who died in 1689. Children by first husband: 1. Samuel, b 25 Nov 1647, 2. Thomas, b 1650. Children by second husband: 3. Samuel, 4. Joseph, 5. Elizabeth.
