John Sunderland of Boston, and later of Eastham, married for his second wife Tamsen (Lumpkin) Mayo. She survived her second husband and is buried beside him in the old cemetery at Brewster, MA, which was, until 1803, a part of the town of Harwich. The inscription on his tombstone reads: "Here Lyes The Body Of Mr John Sunderlin Decd Decr Ye 26 1703 In ye 85 Year Of His Age."
d book of the Barnstable County, MA, Probate Records. The three daughters of his wife, named as legatees, were: Mary (Mayo) Bangs, wife of Jonathan Bangs; Sarah (Mayo) Freeman, wife of Lieut. Edmund Freeman; Mercy (Mayo) Sears, wife of Samuel Sears.r Gourden twenty shillings and the Rest of my Estate I give unto Tamsen my wife for terme of her Life and then what is left to be Equally Divided betwixt her three Daughters Mary Bangs Sarah ffreeman and Mercy Seers . And I make Tamsen my wife sole Executrix"itnesses were Thomas Crosbie and Sarah Crosbie, the latter signing by a mark.ory of the Estate of mr John Sunderland Late deceased" was taken by Nicholas Snow and Simon Crosbie. No real estate was mentioned.
[NI7438] Tamsen (Lumpkin) Mayo Sunderland is buried in the old cemetery at Brewster, MA, which was, until 1803, a part of the town of Harwich. Her tombstone reads: "Here Lyes Ye Body Of Mrs Tamsen Sunderlin Wife To Mr John Sunderlin Decd June Ye 16 1709 In Ye 84 Year Of Her Age"
