He was wounded for our transgressions..He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

 John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in
him shall not perish but have eternal life.

...But they kept shouting crucify Him!

A third time Pilate said to them, Why? What wrong has he done? I have
found no guilt in him; I will chastise him and release him.

But they continued shouting with demanding voices to crucify Him! And their
voices prevailed.

After much torment and abuse they took Him to Calvary or Golgotha which
means place of the skull. He prayed, Father forgive them, they know not what
they do.

As He hung on the cross, nails driven thru His hands and feet, they continued
to mock Him. Even one of the criminals being crucified beside him chose to
use his remaining energy mocking Him. Another criminal, on His other side,
asked Him to remember him in His kingdom. He responded, today you shall
be with Me in paradise.

It was now the sixth hour (midday) and darkness fell upon the entire earth
until the ninth hour (about 3:00 in the afternoon). At the ninth hour He
cried with a loud voice, My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? He
uttered a loud cry and breathed out His life.
