This is a small site dedicated to the photos that were in an album kept by my great-aunt, 'Auntie Florrie', and is the first site in connection with my intended 'Family Tree'- type  site. The intention is to have a full family background together with significant photos, links to related family sites, photo albums and so on.

This site is also to try to inspire others to find a name and other details of the unidentified photos from this album which was kept between about 1910 and about 1925

Who was "Auntie Florrie"?

Florence Augusta Austing, born 1872, died in 1967, one day short of her 95th Birthday (thanks, Jack), was the first-born child of James Peachy Austing and Anne Hay Rose. She married William Devoy 'Uncle Will' (?) (please let me have details of any information where I put a question mark in parenthesis ) and had no children.

Florence was one of nine children. They were:
Edith, born 1873, died at two months.
Sidney James Flannery, born 1874, died one year later.
Laura--no details at all
(?)
Minnie Ida, born 1876, died not quite four years later.
Constance Hilda, born 4.8.1881, died 26.2.1913, second wife of Frank Moore
Emily Winnifred
, born 10.7.1882, died 1905 (?) , first wife of Frank Moore
Kathleen
(?) , married Gough (?)
Annie C. (?) , (married Percival Glennister? )

Frank had plenty of offspring, including my father's half-brother Rex who appears several times in this album and whose surviving wife, Marjorie, and several generations of descendents are in New Zealand and Australia.

Kathleen's descendents included Albert Gough, whose brother James was killed while fighting in the Spanish Civil War. I am in contact with Albert's descendents who may well have some of these photos in their albums.

Annie had two daughters, Marie and Dorothy and I am chasing their families for info too.

Some technical information

This site was created using the, very simple, MS Publisher 2000 and then organised in Dreamweaver.

The photos were scanned on an "
EPSON Perfection 1200 PHOTO" scanner at 300 dpi. The photos were scanned directly into Adobe Image Ready where they were edited and repaired and reduced to 'low' quality jpeg format.

The site is published on the free "Fortune City" open server, hence the pop-up adverts and/or banner.

OK, on to the photos. Follow the links below and let me have your news.

Thanks.
