Big Photo of Matthew & Shawn
dressed in war kilts, ready for battle --
ready to fight each other.
Kilts are required for this event to make it more manly.
Knee socks with a knife are traditionally worn with the kilt,
but normally this event is done
on grass without socks, shoes, or shirt.
For an example of highland wrestling on grass in just a kilt,
see my movie of wrestling at Grandfather Mt.
Left: Matthew Burns blond, short socks, age 15, 150 pounds, 5'11"
Right: Shawn McLeroy red hair, long socks, age 14, 141 pounds, 5'7½"
They are both wearing loaner kilts (great kilts of ancient Johnston tartan).
They are receiving some instruction from me,
just before locking arms to start their 1st contest (fall).
To win, one boy must throw the other boy on the mattress without letting go
2 times out of 3.
(This Heritage Athletic Sport is for
adults & youth, men, teens, children, kids, boys of all ages,
part of the Scottish Games & Gatherings of the Clans.)
Matthew Burns is wrestling for the honor of the Clan Campbell,
to which clan the Burns Family is historically an ally.
Shawn McLeroy is wrestling for the honor of Clan MacGillivray,
of which McLeroy is a modern spelling.

Shawn was the champion of this Weight Division at this festival on Saturday Last Year.
Matthew was the champion of this Weight Division at this festival on Sunday Last Year.
Matthew had his arm pulled out of its socket,
3 weeks prior to this match this year,
so Matthew was trying to be careful & Shawn was trying not to be too rough.

of Shawn beating Matthew in the first fall.
Load time of the movie is 5 minutes with a 28.8 K modem.
Coming soon are the 2 falls where Matthew beats Shawn.
