  6. Heavy Athletics.  Mr. Kay Cummings is in charge of the Heavy Athletics (caber, stones, hammer, sheaf toss) for big men.

  7. Wrestling.  Derry Burns, Charles McLeroy, et al will conduct Highland Wrestling.
See this year's Indian Springs Wrestling HQ Page
    1. Kilts will be provided.
    2. Wrestlers should wear shorts and bring a belt to don a kilt.
    3. Wrestlers should be aged from about 5 - 70. There is no separate division for females.  Everyone should try their best without regard to opponent's age or sex.
    4. The weight divisions are:
      1. Under 100 pounds,
      2. 100 - 149 pounds,
      3. 150 - 199 pounds, &
      4. 200 pounds & up.
and may be subdivided if enough of a weight division pre-register.
    5. Everyone will need to sign a release, parents signing for minors.
    6. There will be foam mattresses covering about 15 ft. x 15 ft. to wrestle on.
    7. The Wrestling practice will be in the morning & competition for medals will began at about 1:30 Saturday.
    8. To be fair, on the day of the event, all entrants will be re-weighed & re-measured.
    9. Decide what clan in your ancestry you will be representing.  If unsure, bring your pedigree & I will see if I can find a clan or sept of a clan in your ancestry.  You may represent (compete for) a step parent's ancestral clan or as a last resort, a friend's clan.
    10. Clans should have as many entrants as they can find.
    11. Report to your clan to let them know you are wrestling for them, so they can take photographs for the clan newsletter & cheer you on.
    12. Then report the results of your effort to your clan for their games report for their newsletter.
    13. If they have no tent at these games, I can provide an address to which to mail your results.
    14. Bring your camera & camcorder for this & other events.
    15. Everyone's wrestling will be recorded on this web page, as shown below.
    16. There will be a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place metal given for each of the 4 divisions of Wrestling Saturday.

  8. Kilted Mile Race is CANCELED, due to rough terrain and lack of time to measure & mark course and lack of room for course.

  9. Children's Games. There are no children's games at the Indian Springs Festival other than Wrestling which is for adults, teens, & children.

  10. Camping.  If you have a camper or RV you cannot camp at the games, but can camp in the adjacent State Park. Phone the park at 770-504-2277 for more information.  They have primitive camping sites for about $5 per night and more for camping sites with electricity, water, etc.  If we have only one or 2 tent folks, we may move from camping at the games to camping with the RV/camper folks in the Park, so email me or phone me, James W. Green III at 803-635-9236 or JamesWGreen@Juno.Com

  11. Location of Registration.
Register for the Wrestling at the Clan MacCallum tent, but pre-register now.  It will make Registration easier at the games and may allow us to split weight divisions and may entice an engraver to come engrave the medals.

  12. Location of events.
Heavy athletics will be in the valley behind the hotel.
Wrestling will be beside the Historic Hotel's Office & Gift Shop (house), between said house and the hotel.
