Dear Clan Members:
We are most excited about the 21st anniversary of the Gatlinburg Scottish
Festival & Games celebration scheduled for Friday, May 17, through Sunday,
May 19, 2002, and would like to share with you the special plans and events
being prepared. Whether you attended our Games last year, missed them, or
haven't had the opportunity to attend in the past, 2002 promises to be a
wonderful event you won't want to miss.
P.S. For additional information, please check our website at
www.gsfg.org,
orOur Friday events have been expanded. In addition to the events that we have enjoyed in the past, this year we have added a Golf Tournament and our first Whiskey Tasting event (after all, we are 21 now!). Following our parade through downtown Gatlinburg Friday evening, we will have our Gala Reception. Forget Gala Receptions in the past ... this one will have chairs and tables for all, a great buffet line, door prizes, and Bruce Davies as entertainment. This will be a special RSVP evening for our closest two hundred or so friends; don't forget to wear your finest! The 21st Games begin Saturday with a new, but old, look. We are returning the Clan Tents to the main field to promote more camaraderie and fun. Patron's Tents will be in the center of everything. Saturday night we will have our first "Ceilidh under the Stars." Returning to the fields as the sun goes down, we will enjoy an evening of music, fun, fellowship, and maybe a little fire. Sunday we will start with a Worship Service and Kirkin' O' the Tartans observed, reverently "by the books". Then, on with the Games! As you can see, we are planning three days of fun and excitement in May, none of which would be the same without you. Please start planning to be with us May 17-19, 2002. Remember ... without you, there wouldn't be the Gatlinburg Festival & Games.
