Know all men by these presents I Thomas J Long of the District of Fairfield in the state aforesaid in consideration of the sum of eighty eight dollars to me paid by Charles Broom of District and State aforesaid waive, granted, bargained, sold and released and by these present do grant, bargain, sell and release unto the said Charles Broom all that plantation and tract of land containing 88 acres more or less being a part of a tract of 3.800 acres originally granted to John and (? ?) the 11th of May 1786 and is that part of the estate of William Broom deceased which he devised to his daughter Elizabeth Long and her heirs and being in the general plat of the said William Broom estate which his will has referenced with the name of Elizabeth Long eighty eight acres No 9 situate on a branch of Big Cedar Creek waters of Broad River in the district of Fairfield bordering to the N by William Mounce's Land . On the W by Luke a Broom land, On the S W by land belonging to William Broom and on the N E and E by Levy Trapp's land. Having such form and marks as a plat of the same represents together with all and singular the rights members, hired tenants, appurtenances unto the said premises belonging or anyone's incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the said premises unto the said Charles Broom, his heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself ,my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Charles Broom, his heirs and assigns against myself, my heirs and against every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.
Witness my hand and seal this 28 day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine and in the fifty second year of the Independence of the United States of America.

I Samuel Alston one of the justices of the quorum do hereby satisfy unto whomever it may concern that Martha Long wife of the within named Thomas Long did this day appear before me and upon being privately and separately examined by me, did declare that she does freely, voluntarily and without any measure of confusion, dread or fear of any person whomsoever, renounce rites and relinquish unto the within named Charles Broom his heirs and assigns all her interest and estate and also all her right and claim of dower of in or to all and singular the premises within mentioned and released
