How to Subscribe to the Broome List
for all interested in the surname Broom of any spelling
It costs nothing to subscribe or to be a subscriber. It is for posting genealogical queries about BROOMs of any spelling.
How to subscribe
  1. Write Broome-L-Request@RootsWeb.Com
  2. on the 1st line of the letter type:
    subscribe
  3. Make sure there is no signature lines or anything else in the body of the letter.
  4. Then mail it. It will get your address from the header of your letter. It does not read the subject line of your letter, so put anything or nothing in the subject.
  5. It will send you a welcome message with instructions on how to use the list.
How to get the list of who is currently subscribed
  1. Write the listserver
    1. For subscribers in Mail mode write
      Broome-L-Request@RootsWeb.Com
    2. For subscribers in Digest mode write
      Broome-D-Request@RootsWeb.Com
  2. put the word archive in the subject line
  3. put in the body of the message the command,
    get dist
  4. Make sure there is no signature lines or anything else in the body of the letter.
  5. Then mail it & the server will mail you the list of addresses of who all is currently subscribed.
