Mailing List
I'm the list owner for the Rootsweb McAllister mailing list. It is the mother of all McAllister genealogy lists A lot of McAllister genealogy data is passed on it. You could very easily find your missing connection on this list - many have!
If you would like to join (being a member is FREE), send an email message to:
McALLISTER-D-request@rootsweb.com for Digest Mode (consolidated messages in one like RootsL)
McALLISTER-L-request@rootsweb.com for List mode (you get every message one at a time)
Don't forget to leave the subject line blank, put the word subscribe in the body of the message, and don't put anything else in the body of your message (to include your email address, signature line, etc).
If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send it to McALLISTER-L@rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both. At this point in time (7 July 1998), the list is an open list. You do not have to be a subscriber to post to it.
Helpful Hints: If you are going to change email addresses you need to send an unsubscribe command to the applicable email address shown below BEFORE you change your email address. After you have your new email address you need to send a "subscribe" command again. If you forget to do this please email me and I can correct the situation for you.
