My Grandfather is Shirley McCallister. He married Lola McCallister.
Shirley and Lola were half 2nd cousins. What this means
is that they had the same great grandmother Cynthia (born abt
1825) but had different great grandfathers. Cynthia had two children out of wedlock: Jason Rice McCallister
(born 1850) by an unkown Hensley, and William Hamilton McCallister
(born 1852) by an unknown Armstrong.
Cynthia's father was Richard, born abt 1797-1802, here after referred
to as Richard 1802. Also confusing the situation is that Cynthia
later married a Richard McCallister who was born abt 1792. Richard
1792 was the grandson of James McAllister b 1730 in Ireland.
Richard 1802 was the son of Joseph McCallister born abt 1780.
It appears that he had a brother James McCallister born abt 1776
in VA. It is unknown how or if these two tie into the line of
James b 1730 in Ireland. Descendants of James 1776 later married
descendants of Jason Rice McCallister and William Hamilton McCallister.
