mismatches pair below
N.B. 19 May 2003 the values of marker 464 were reduced by 1 by FT DNA after Thos. & Mark got their results & before David & Aubrey got their results. So David & Aubrey's results were lower for 464, as shown here. Then shortly after this page was abandoned, FT DNA lowered all the earlier testees' results for 464, so now Thomas' & Mark's values match those of David & Aubrey.  See the corrected table.

Key to the Colors above, Designating the Old Haplogroups
More on Haplogroups: HG1, HG2, HG3 HG16 or HG21 are in the section labeled
"More on the Old Haplogroups".

Values in red print (i.e. values for markers 385b, 439, 459b, & 464a-e) are fast mutating markers and thus can be ignored if you are desparate for a match.
This color is used for no mismatches.
There are 2 (perfect) matches with 2 people in each match.
1) Thomas Bruce GREEN & Mark William GREEN match each other.
2) Frank Oatman GREEN & John Edward GREEN match each other.
This color is used for one mismatch.
There is 1 match (with one mismatch) with 2 people in the match.
1) Willard Barnum GREEN Jr. & Robert Charles GREEN match each, other except for marker 388.
There is a 2nd match (with one mismatch) which matches a perfect match of 2 people.
2) David Thomas Green matches Thomas Bruce Green & Mark William Green, except for marker 464.
This color is used for 2 mismatches.
There is 1 match (with two mismatches), with 3 people in the match.
1) Melvin Raymore Greene III, James Walker GREEN Jr., & George Michael GREEN
match each other, except for markers 389-2 & 459a & 464.

There is 1 match (with two mismatches), with 2 people in the match.
2) Donald Keith GREEN & George Robert GREENE match each other, except for markers 19 & 439.  This match is only a 12 marker match, so is not as trustworthy as the above matches.  An upgrade to 25 markers is needed.  James Walker Green & Charles Ron Green matched perfectly on 12 markers & then totally failed to be kin when the full 25 marker results became known.  This match (between Donald K. & George R.) may also fail when upgraded to 25 markers.  I marked this match in the above table & not other 12 marker matches, because that is all the markers Don has, so that is all we have to go on & thinking positive, maybe they will find no further mismatches when all 25 markers are tested, plus I colored it above because Don needs encouraging to upgrade to 25 markers & I hope seeing a potential match will encourage the upgrade.
People (like the above matches) who match 23, 24 or 25 markers out of 25 markers probably have a GREEN/E MRCA (most recent ancestor in common) since the taking of surnames in the 1200s, i.e. their MRCA in their male line was surnamed GREEN/E.
