Jim,
      We corresponded several years ago, remember? I have told you that you share the same line with Marilyn and Clyde Spence <marilyn@enid.com> The Spence group is for a bunch of us not necessarily from just James and Jane (Bluford) Spence!
      When Marilyn and Clyde were living in AL, in researching in Atlanta, she found so much for me. Moses had land next door to my Bluford 'Thorpe' Spence. We think Moses was about 8 years older than Thorpe. That ws a thrill for me. I knew Huxley [she means Huxford] was wrong that Moses was not a son of Thorpe. She found tho' that many kin in east GA said they were told that they were related to the Camilla Spences (my father was born there).
      Meanwhile, I have found the Isaac Spence family that lived near Camilla and the family site had the named the town Spence. He must be a son of Thorpe for children carried the names of Bluford (poor things) Thorpe, Green, etc and other names in my line.
      For the record, I must past this on to the group, Bluford Thorpe and Charity (Smith) Spence reportdly had 7 sons. Interesting names but I can find very little on them:
  Green                     b. c1796 (sometimes see written as Greenville?)
  Littleton                 b. c1800     married a Sarah?
  Bluford Thorpe jr my line b. 1801-1836 m. Elizabeth Fitzgerald
  Leaston                   b. 1802      m. Elizabeth M. Coston
  James                     b. 1806-1846 m. Elizabeth Hilliard (a cousin of mine)
  Joseph                    b. 1807
  Isaac                     b. c 1784    m. twice and one wife a Hannah Harbuck
I am embarassed to even send this as I know so little and have few facts....so much guess work.
