Map of Original Location of the grave of Major John Marjoribanks

Major John Marjoribanks was originally buried on Wantoot Plantation which is now under Lake Moultrie as shown below.
Below are 2 maps superimposed. They were made by the SC Highway Dept. The red lines above come from a map of Berkeley County SC made Sept 1 1940 prior to the empoundment of Lake Moultrie. The black lines come from a map made May 1, 1943 after the empoundment of Lake Moultrie. In the lake (in red) is Wantoot Plantation. The solid squares are "farm units, but if they have a superimposed + they are "tenant houses". If either symbol is hollow, then they are vacant. The 6 beside the tenant house symbol probably means there were 6 tenant houses at that spot. Be sure to move the slides at the bottom & sides to see all of the map that was scanned.
