I received Email from green@bigbird.csd.sc.edu or hargreaves@zilker.net
asking me to answer some questions on a query that I had placed but I
could not get through on these addresses so I will put it here. Is this
the same group?

My g-grandmother's sister married a Henry Martin Frost. His son was
William Jasper Frost born 10 Mar 1860 at Jefferson Co. Missouri.
William is supposed to have been adopted and his name was Hargrave.
William married Ida Mae Miller in Napa on 14 May 1889 and they had 10
children.

I called the family to get some info and it seems that some of the
family believes he was adopted and others do not. (no adoption papers)
The first time I found the family on a census was in 1870 Washoe Co.
Nevada federal census. H.M. Frost with his wife Polly and son William,
age 10. Polly Frost was married to Henry in 1864 in Reno. I believe
that Polly Frost was my g-grandfather's sister, Polly Ellsworth. Her
obit stats fit hers and I found where Henry had a family plot at the
Odd Fellows cemetery in Reno in which I found Eliphalet's other sister's
children buried. Another clue is that William Frost's middle name was
Jasper; Polly's grandfather's given name. When she married in Reno, her
name was Polly Breushc & possibly married before. Polly was born in 1835
in NY and raised in Waukesha Co. Wisc. I asked the Frost family if
William Jasper was gis namea at birth or if they thought that his adoptive
parents changed it and they did not know only that the name Henry was
carried down. Henry Martin Frost and Polly Frost did not have any other
children but after Polly's death, Henry remarried and had at least 2
children. It is my understanding that several Frost family members
have been to Reno and Missouri to look for info and have not found any.
Perhaps if we search from the assumption that William's mother was also a
family member, we may find something. I have found all of Eliphalet's
brothrs and sisters but one, Sophronia. Perhaps Sophronia was married to
a Hargrave and they died leaving a son. It would be natural that a
married sister without any children might take the child. I cannot find
the Ellsworth family on the 1860 census in Wisc. The older girls were
married: Mrs. Rhoda (Elsworth) Thompson died and her husband had remarried
by 1860 lived in Wisc and then on to Minn. Sophronia ? Polly, William's
step mother (?); Mrs. Safety Thomson had 2 children who died in Wisc in
1859 and a third born there but they are on the 1860 Colo census; Mrs.
Fanny Maria Nugent on the 1860 Colo census; Mrs. Jane Howard had remarried
by 1860 to a Robbins but cannot find her on a census until 1900 in Napa CA;
my g-grandfather Eliphalet was supposed to be in CA abt 1860 & found his
marriage in Napa in 1867; John 's first appearance is on the Reno 1875
state census with a son born in ILL. The Frost family have many
descendants who are anxious to "solve" this puzzle an I am also because I
already have to lines connected to William Frost. One other thing, the
family does not know if Wiliam was adopted/placed in Missouri or Nevada.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
