Bankses & Robertsons,
This is the grave of your immigrant Sam Banks'
wife's dad (Alexander Robinson/Robertson) who
died 1796. So this stone seems to be over
200 years old. A Robertson cousin, Sam Boyd
of TX found a reference to the stone in a book
on the Texas Robinsons saying it was in the
Moore cemetery. Prior to that, all I had was
Alexander's will which said he wanted to be
buried in the Robertson cemetery on Jackson
Creek -- a valley about 9 miles long & 3 to 4
miles wide. Once I knew it was now called
Moore, I went to it & found the stone. It
probably only became the Moore cemetery after
1796. Prior to that it was Robertson. All
the old stones were Alexander & his kids. No
doubt his house was within a 100 yards.
The rest of the story is on the web page.
Also thanks go to Nina Barrett.
All,
Please tell me if you have special knowledge
about how to read the day of the month or why
a book that I have records "th" in dates as
"jh". Is it Latin?
I really think that age 60 is more likely than age 80 due to the apparent age of his wife & kids at his death. I think it was within the last 20 years that this cemetery was vandalized, so I arrived too late to read his age.

I have removed the Cameron Pages, combining it with Robertson & putting the joint page where Robertson falls alphabetically.
