More Bastards???James; Dr. Bobby Gilmer Moss's book "Roster of the Patriots in the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge" page 39 offers the information that bros. Robert, Samuel, Sampson, and William Carver along with cousin Isom Carver served in Cap't. Arthur Council's Militia. Cap't. Arthur Council's Militia was present so therefore these Carvers were "probably" also present. This is the way most of the men are listed as being either probably or possibly there.
Interestingly, on page 25, Richard Braswell and bro. Sampson are listed as being there while third bro. Shadrack was possibly there. The book also lists information contained in their pension papers.
Yes, Dr. Moss lives in Cherokee Co. NC.. He also wrote the books "Roster of the Loyalists at the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge" and "Roster of the Patriots at the Battle of Kings Mountain". Almost all of the Loyalists at Moores Creek were newly immigrated Scots.
