I have received a lot of email from those wishing to know "who" I am and "why" I have taken on the venture of posting

adoption listings. First, I'll introduce myself: my name is Lisa, and I was born in October of 1969 in Southern California.

And to answer the burning question: yes, I am an adoptee. (For those wishing to know a little more on me, check out my

"personal" homepage at http://rivendell.fortunecity.com/shalimar/844/). Now for "why": First, I found it quite disheartening to

find that a large number of "adoption listing" sites actually charge people to post searches. It's very hard for some people to

work up the courage to initiate a search (not to mention the anxiety and heartache of waiting for an answer), but then to be

confronted with the obstacle of being charged for it is just plain heartbreaking. And regardless of the reason these sites use

("to cover their time and expenses, etc"), it is just cruelty, selfishness, and greed at it's worst. Secondly, the more adoption

search registries there are, the better the chance for someone to find their "lost" family member. That is why I have devoted

my own time and money to making sure that this site is maintained free (one of my favorite words...) for all who wish to

partake in mutual-consent adoption postings. If you have any questions or coments regarding this site, please do not hesitate

to contact me at

If you run a site that charges for adoption listings, please read here before e-mailing me. Thanks!
