Why God created Mothers
Because he knew that everybody would need somebody
to believe in them
A
capable wife who can find?
She is far more precious than any
jewels.
She looks well to the ways of her
household.
Her children rise up and call her
happy;
and her husband too, and he praises
her
Proverbs 31: 10, and 27&28.
The following poem is dedicated to my Mother in Law who went to be with
the Lord January 20 1993
God Bless you Ida.
Dear
M
um
Did I ever say thanks for all the
toys you mended,
games we played, outtings to the
park,
and the way you always tried
to cheer me up when I was down?
Did I ever say thanks for the
sacrifices you made so I could
be involved in so many enriching
activities?
Did I ever say thanks for working
so hard
to provide for our family?
Did I ever say thanks for having
such faith in me
and always being there when I needed
you.
Most of all,did I ever say
Thanks for caring? Mum,I
love you![]()
Mum
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.
Howard Johnson (c. 1915)
More
Than a Mother
When God set the world in place, when He hung the stars up in space,
when He made the land and the sea, then He made you and me.
He sat back and saw all that was good,
He saw things to be as they should.
Just one more blessing He had in store;
He created a mother, but whatever for?
He knew a mother would have a special place to shine His reflection
on her children's face.
A mother will walk the extra mile just to see her children smile.
She'll work her fingers to the bone to make a house into a home.
A mother is there to teach and guide, a mother will stay right
by your side
She'll be there through your pain and strife, she'll stay constant
in your life.
A mother will lend a helping hand until you have the strength to stand.
She'll pick you up when you are down, when you need a friend she'll
stick around.
A mother is one who listens well, will keep her word; will never tell.
A mother never pokes or pries but stands quietly by your side,
giving you the strength you need, encouraging you to succeed.
A mother is one who can be strong when you need someone to lean on.
You're more than a mother to me; a reflection of Him in your
face I see,
a love that knows no boundaries.
I'm glad that you chose to be my mother
You share a love that knows no end, you're more than my mother,
you are my friend.

What Rules The World
They say that man is mighty;
He governs the land and sea,
He wields a mighty scepter
O'er lesser powers that be.
But a mightier power and stronger
Man from his throne has hurled,
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world."
-- William Ross Wallace.
ANGELS IN DISGUISE
THERE IS A SWEET,ANGELIC LOOK
IN EVERY MOTHER'S EYES,
THAT MAKES US STOP AND WONDER
IF THEY'RE ANGELS IN DISGUISE
FOR THEY ARE ALWAYS STANDING BY
WHEN SOMEONE NEEDS A FRIEND
NO ONE HAS AS MUCH COMPASSION
NONE ARE QUICKER TO DEFEND.
THERE IS A LITTLE BIT OF GOD
IN EVERY MOTHER'S HEART
HE MOLDED THEM OF FINER CLAY
THAT SETS THEM WELL APART
THEY ARE AM EARTHLY BLESSING
THAT HEAVEN ITSELF SUPPLIES,
AND SO WE CAN'T HELP BELIEVING
THEY ARE ANGELS IN DISGUISE!

HANDS
I held her hands in mine last night...
they looked so thin and worn...but they held
mine just as tightly...as the day that I was born.
Those gentle and expressive hands...
etched by work and care...have folded o'er
my bedside...many times in humble prayer.
They've washed for me---they've fed me...
they've helped me be a man...There's something
of our Lord, Himself...In every mother's hand.
